FireKeepers is the latest Native American casino to open in Michigan. It has been open two months and is located at Battle Creek on the S side of 94. It's huge, great decor, latest machines, sensational buffet and has self serve beverage stations. There is no lodging on site. Check out their web site and up volume!
Okay, I can glow. I had the best time, of the six in our party, and no doubt winning played a factor.  I walked out almost $1300 ahead. Pay tables were better on $1 machines of DDB (9/6)and DW (125 WRF) than lower denoms.
Two hands stood out as most memorable. Aces for $800 and dealt foyal, lacking the ace. Instead the 9 fell into place for a straight flush for $250. Of course, I am exceedingly grateful for any win but $3750 MORE would have been paid for that royal! Maybe next time!
We stopped briefly at FOUR WINDS on Sun and Wed on our fun Chicago trip. This is a large, newish, Native American casino at New Buffalo. We like that casino but alas no wins to report yet, on these our second and third visits. Lodging available and no pool.

Way to go at Firekeepers Marie. I saw a sign for it in Indiana, near Fort Wayne and I was wondering how it was. As for Four Winds, I too, haven't had a winning session the last couple times I have been there either. As for their hotel the rooms are fantastic but becuase there is a very limited amount they are tough to get and you need to book them well in advance.

Congrats Marie!
Apparently the self-serve soda fountains are the *in* thing to have. I know the M resort has them. It would be nice to get them at the Indian Casinos down here in So Cal. It's near impossible to get a soda on a weekend night. And god forbid you should want a bottled water. Get out the wallet....

ty Ted and vido. Ted, Four Winds mails out free room offer after first visit and this may account for the lack of room availability. Agreed, their rooms are really great! You're right, vidopoker, it seems newer casinos are including that most welcome beverage station and it is up to us to let them know they are appreciated!
After playing awhile at FireKeepers, I realized how uncomfortable I was leaning over to play and having the sensation my legs were about to fall off. Okay, the swivel, cushioned chairs were great and I did not get around to checking if they were adjustable in height. I did finally realize that black slanted strip at the machine base and length of the bank was not part of their cool decor but rather a foot rest designed for MY comfort! That great foot rest seemed to be throughout the casino. I do not care if it was an after add on because the designer was a tall person and needed no foot rest or part of the original plan. That foot rest made VP play much more enjoyable and first time I have seen it in a casino! I can only hope the powers that be are reading about what we prefer and LIKE to see in casinos to entice us to play there longer.

I went to Firekeepers last Thursday and enjoyed myself.  Did not win much 15.00 over what I took but hey any win is better than a loss.  Decor was nice and as I like V.P. enjoyed the nickels that they had.  I did not notice the beverage stations, wish I had as I was thirsty nor did I eat there.  Was with friends so only stayed a couple hours.  Hope to go back soon.  I live about 1 hr and 1/2 away, so am much closer to the Soaring Eagle in Mt. Pleasant which is only 20 miles away.

Welcome to forum, missy. We were at FireKeepers last Thurs, also, for almost six hours. Maybe you would have won more had you stayed longer? Big%20smile Ceiling lighting was cool as well as that huge green water fall wall at the buffet entrance. Pretty use of small green glass tiles in buffet and restroom. One self-service beverage station is just beyond the buffet and the other on the opposite far back corner. They have five restaurants. Since the casino is all on one floor and there's no lodging, I did not figure out what is beyond the up escalator. The names of the casino and restaurants indicate Native American but nothing in the decor represents that heritage.

Negative. Just small horizontal rectangular transparent green glass wall in the buffet and small squares of same in restroom. These glass tiles have been showing up at restaurants all over the place in recent years, often in those being updated/renovated. Nice variety.
