I went to Laughlin a few weeks ago and stayed at the Aquarius. After check-in, I proceeded to my favorite machine to play Double-Double Bonus Super Times Video Poker. This is a strict routine and I never deter from it. I have won several jackpots on it and I had dreamt of a large jackpot the night before. Well, would you know it, out of all 9 Super Times machines in the area, some fellow had to be playing on my machine! I was beside myself! This machine was my jackpot machine and I believed any variation from it would damage my psyche, throw destiny out the window and ruin any chance of winning. And, heaven forbid, me starting off on another machine was totally out of the question. I waited and waited, and this guy was still totally camped on my machine. I finally realized this guy was not going anywhere soon. I was demoralized, dejected and hostile and left the area to another section of the casino. While walking, I resigned myself to the fact, I would never reach the level I was destined to reach and decided to just pick a machine and start gambling. I picked one, dropped a hundred in the machine and selected: 25 cents, Super Times, Double-Double Bonus, 3 lines. Nothing happened, and I thought, yup this was how it was gonna be.... I dropped another hundred in the machine and it started devouring my money. I was hoping to get a hand to change the momentum, I pushed the deal button then I got it, the 10X popped up.... the first line: 10 of Clubs, Jack of Clubs, 3 of Hearts, Queen and King of Clubs. I stared at it and thought that fate was so cruel, and it was just teasing me, making me anxious without any intention of paying off. I nonchalantly dropped the 3 of Hearts and pushed the deal button while reaching for a cigarette. The first line dealt a Jack of Hearts=a pair, 2nd line Ace of Spades=straight and the 3rd line was an Ace of Clubs=a royal! I thought I was going to pass out! $10,205 payoff. I regained my composure and lit another cigarette. It was while I was waiting for my payoff that I realized then and there that my dream was made to fruition and that fate had me directed to this machine by the guy camped out at my machine.
