This Month's Kicker
I sat down at a Triple Play machine at the Bellagio on Christmas. I only had a small wad of cash on me to play with. What was I doing playing here any way? I knew I should probably be off-strip with my relatively small bankroll but I'm pretty new to this game and Vegas and wanted to enjoy the Strip. I put in a 100 bill, and the machine lit up. Every small win felt like a tiny bit of hope. Somehow I was starting out pretty good and broke even for a bit. Then it happened. I got a King, a Queen, a Jack, and a Ten. My heart was pounding. Could this be it? A Royal Flush? My hands were shaking as I held the cards. Then the Ace popped up. The machine started rolling up the credits for the longest I'd ever heard. I’d done it. My first Royal Flush ever!
