Why does Keno have such poor odds?

Anyone know why Keno has such poor payback % compared to VP or even slots? I see Keno becoming less popular at Casinos. Can't they increase the payback tables a little so to make the payback better for the players? Then more people may play Keno again and the casinos still make money. Just curious cause I like Keno but refuse to play at Casino cause the payback is so bad.

The larger prizes are the draw, not the winning %.

It's possible the casinos would do better offering looser games in general, but I'm not sure video keno is unfairly penalized. Typically if you want a good % payback, you have to either (1) bet big or (2) play skillfully.

If you do neither of those, the casino probably won't pay you back much more than 90%.

Keno is not exactly a skill game, but game selection is a skill. Have you scouted to find the best available pay tables within your budget?

Slot club value is also important. Machines may have differing earn rates for slot club points.

I never play video Keno while I'm in Vegas. I just pick my 8 numbers at the casino keno cage, play 100 games. On the last day in Vegas check my tickets and all winners go to my wife. She doesn't gamble and it has giving her some extra shopping cash. My point is, to sit in front of a Video Keno is like watching grass grow. Get over to the Video Poker where you can make a decision
