Aruba Casinos
Has anyone been? Wondering quality/variety of machines and what the tax situation is if one hits (and on what amount). Thanks!

Welcome to the forum. Don't expect a whole of lot of great odds. You might try this link for more information:

An interesting side story: Sweet C and I were on a cruise and it was raining on our day in Antigua. We opted to not go to the beaches but decided to try a newly opened casino at one of the resorts so we took a taxi. Got there around 12:00 and found it closed but two workers (bar tender and a slot tech along with a paint crew) were inside. The two took sympathy on us and offered to open up the casino. For the next two hours we had the casino to ourselves with the ability to play any game we wanted. Finished up back at King's Casino next to the dock at the end of the day waiting for the sailing deadline.
Good luck and enjoy the island.

A once in a lifetime opportunity. Worked out well since it was raining and we were tired from two days of snorkeling. Hope you have a great time. The islands are all beautiful.

Larry have a chance to go to a dinner at the isle next weekend and my wife really wants to go. It is held in the event center 7-17. Just checking to see if you have ever been and is it a good time. Thanks raven

raven,
We got a similar invite for the weekend after that. Our understanding (from hosts) is the new GM is having invitational dinners to get acquainted, PR new changes/anticipated changes, and show appreciation.
Haven't talked to anyone yet who has attended but the past dinners have been OK. Probably worth going to eat, greet, meet and perhaps give/receive some input. I'll try to contact several people in LC to find out.
You might want to call to make sure VP is up since they're relocating it pretty soon. But, they'll probably make sure its back up for weekends when they do move. Were headed to Missouri soon to see family and have plans to play Hard Rock Tulsa and Downstream in OK enroute. Have you played any of those? Should be interesting.
Let us know how it goes. Hope you hit some jackpots but leave a little for us, we'll probably be ready to head that way when we get back after playing the OK casinos.

I have been to Aruba several times. I find the machines very tight.

stayed for 9 days in May at the Marriott. Make sure you get a players card especially if staying there as they will comp anything charged to room and, I thought, quite generously. Daughter hit 2 royals on quarter machines. My understanding is there is no tax taken for any amount hit.

Sandy that's good to know, thanks! I hope to go to Aruba some time in the next few years. Perhaps you can share some examples of how much and/or what you played and what comps you got in return?
