Beware of the Silver Legacy
Got a 2-night comp offer last month. Booked Friday and Saturday in
February. Yesterday, got a different 2-night comp offer for
Sunday-Thursday. Was referred to the Director, who said I would need 24
hrs between, which was fine with me. I originally called him to request 4
nights straight, to avoid packing and un-packing twice. It's still 4
nights comped. He said he "would honor both stays, with 24hrs between."
So, I called reservations back to add a Tues-Wed stay. Was referred
back to him, and now he says he won't honor it. We've been player's club
members for about 20 years.
This is a prime example of why you need to diversify your play among
several casinos. Don't believe for a minute their loyalty toward you is
un-wavering. I've never had this happen with any hotel casino in Reno OR
Vegas.

Thanks for the heads up and what a bummer for you. Even if he made a mistake, he should have kept his word! WHO would be above director to issue a complaint. Write a letter to the casino to complaint dept or public relations. They should offer something to compensate you. We get offers from them, also. FYI: It helps me to write down the name of the phone contact on my calendar re casinos, credit cards, etc. to get snafus straightened out later.

I have had offers yanked out from under me, even in Vegas. When denied, I usually ask the person, hopefully some VP, if he/she has a window in their office. If the answer is "YES', I ask them what they see. When they get confused about my question, I tell them they are looking at their competition, which is where I am taking my play for this trip, all future trips, and anyone that asks me where to play.
The nice thing about Vegas - there are LOTS of choices. Most times, you can walk in to just about any Vegas casino with a competitor's offer, and they will match it if they want your play.

Thing is, the only comment he made about my history was "all you play is video poker." I think what he was really meaning was he noticed I am several hundred ahead on winnings there. You'd think he would want me back even more.

He may view you as too good a player - one that may come out ahead more often than lose. His strategy: run you off and get some donkeys in there.

Do you play only the FPDW?
