Maryland LIVE!

Post by SaraTG »

Well Maryland opened it's newest and largest (Almost 5,000 machines) casino on June 6th so I went down early this morning to check it out.  First problem. Location. They should have built it elsewhere so it doesn't share the land with a big mall.  If you park on one of the outdoor parking lots be prepared to walk a LONG way to the entrance. So on to video poker...

The video poker machines are all in one area.  To save someone else from looking, if you go in the front doors head straight ahead to the back wall, turn left and the poker area is in the far back corner.  They have a pretty nice selection of video poker games from the standard "Game King" up to 100 play ones and all the other variety of Spin Poker, Ultimate X Poker, Aces and Faces, etc.  Lots of room and big comfy chairs. You can bet from 1 cent to $1 on various games. The machines take up to a $100 bill.  The only problem I had was that it seemed once you were in a game I couldn't figure out how to change to another without cashing out and starting over. Maybe I was missing something.

I guess that's all the input I have. I wasn't there that long. I was $500 DOWN really fast as I got on some of the multi-hand machines. I got a lucky break and hit 4 queens and then got dealt a flush and full house back to back on the 3 hand game where you can bet $6 a hand (So was betting $18 a hand) and suddenly I was $136 UP and said "Let me get the F out of here!"

I noticed the "Video Poker.Com" logo on some machines at Maryland Live!  That suprised me since I'd been told that the VP machines there were Video Lottery Display terminals.  In other words slots disguised as video poker.  No skill involved.
