San Francisco area?

Heading to SF for a much-needed vacation and am looking for advice on casinos near the Citiy by the Bay.
I've researched some info and it seems that River Rock casino is the nearest (if I'm reading maps right). Looks to be an hour and a half away.
Anyone know anything about this? Looks pretty nice and has 1600 slots (including video poker from one cent to $100).
Anyone been there? Other casinos in the area?
Any info greatly appreciated...
Thanks, Theo.

I have been there numerous times. For dollar denomination, they have 9/6 JOB, DDB, 8/5 BP, and tons of full pay VP games. If you look around, they also have an 8/5 $.10 progressive JOB game. What is interesting about the progressive game is that its meter is setting on flushes and above, which I have never seen before. Also they have tour buses that you can take to get there. The company you should call is sanmo (415) 379-6666. You pay $10, and you will get $15 slot vouchers. You will have to stay in the casino for 4 hours.

Also, if you do go there by tour buses, you are also entitled to bounce backs. That is, for every $500 that you played, you get $10 vouchers back. pretty good deal.

Thanks, MORE...just got into town and was glad to see your message.
Somehow or 'nother, in calling a couple of numbers, I got Sanmo and got all the info...doesn't seem to be too bad a deal: 1 1/2 hour trip, 4 hours of play, 10 bucks....very do-able.
Will report back if I hit it big! <g> Am going on Thursday, so it will be a few days.
Appreciate the info....

Isn't Lake Tahoe only 2 hours from SF? If you are willing to make a trip for 1 1/2 hours, I think that the extra 30 minutes would be well worth it.

Didn't reaize that, but it would probably take more than 2 hours, because the 1 1/2 hour trip took a bit over 2 hours.
And, I should have known. While it was good to get my "casino itch" scratched, the casino was just so-so. Very few triple or five play machines, and fairly low payoffs. Nonetheless, I managed to stretch $200 over the 3 1/2 hours we were there (we were only alloted four hours...and I had to grab a bite before nearly passing out <g>).
Overall, I'd do it again (I know, I know, it's an addiction <g>), but it wasn't really what I was hoping for.
My advice, don't get too worked up about going, but if it's all ya got, it beats nothing.

If you consider Lake Tahoe, why not continue to "Vegas Junior" better known as Reno? It is a beautiful drive year round and a very easy day trip. What is your favorite place to play in Reno?
