I frequent the casinos clustered around Council Bluffs, IA quite often - most often Harrah's and Horseshoe. The Harrah's property has been recently completely remodeled, as it now has a rather nice land-based casino (river boat has sailed away). Hotel is extremely nice as well as the steakhouse. VP is, at best, average (8/5 DDB, with a few 9/5 at higher denominations). The Horseshoe, a quick 10 min (3 miles) away, is much larger but it too was recently remodeled (casino floor) with a negative impact on VP inventory. I would say only 50% of the machines still remain, and many of the games I enjoy (SDDB, DDAF) are now either non-existent or on only but a few machines. I typically stay at Harrah's and play at Horseshoe (several hotel options nearby but Harrah's is nicest IMHO). There is also an Ameristar river boat in the same 3-mile radius, actually walking distance from Harrah's, with better VP inventory but ancient machines along with their problems (bad displays, faulty bill acceptors, etc.). Much to do in greater Omaha area (which is just across the Missouri river, also walking distance from Harrah's using the pedestrian bridge which is a must see), so I would definitely recommend. I visit 2-3 times per year (live in Chicago).

None since Hillary Clinton visited Iowa and had the paytables reduced to 45% to match her 45th President number.
