Re: Cherokee only Casino
It actually is pretty bad as far as trying to win. No good video poker unless you play at the $5 machines. Very nice casino but I can spend in vegas for a week what I lost at cherokee in one night.

We dropped by the new Casino in Murphy on our way to Cherokee last week. Don't waste your time. The place looks like a convenience store with slot machines in it and the odds are terrible. We had a good time in Cherokee, but watch your losses. If you hit anything good, head for the exits.

Only casino I get to play is Cherokee in NC unless I take a cruise. They are opening up another one in NC still owned by the Cherokee nation. Read a lot of horror stories about this casino but is it really as bad as the reviews......is a trip to Miss or Fla worth the trip. How did you win there? I never been to Cherokee, but I`d like to if there are good conditions in cas))

When we lived in South Carolina, we went to the Cherokee a few times.I got fed up with the VP machines and bad buttons. Made a ton of mistakes because of them. If you get a machine where a button or multiple buttons are bad or flaky, get off the machine and find another. I remember doing that to 5 machines in a row before I found one that worked 100%. Don't bother calling a slot tech. They are far and few and you will sit there forever awaiting, only to be told they can't fix it now. I have written management a couple time but it never got fixed. The don't seem to care about the players. We will never go back there. Now we go to the Hard Rock in Tampa from time to time. We stopped playing VP and are hooked on the Diamond Lotto game. The wife has done really well. Me, just OK.Funny story, we went to the Coconut Creek back in 2002 or so and played a similar lotto game with 4 panels. Before playing the wife was walking around watching the players. She noticed one player playing the numbers 121212. So when she finally sat down to play, she played the same numbers....and hit for $10K!She continues to play those numbers at the Hard Rock and had hit for $3500 in the last few trips.

Back near the Essence Lounge on the wall is a new bank of Progressive DDB $1 VP and a new bank of Multi Game Game Kings. Had some luck there but not the old school Game Makers. 2 pair 2 pair 2 pair etc...
