M Resort and Spa

There was some discussion/confusion in another thread about earning tier points at the M. My wife just got a mailer from them that says earning 1 tier point requires 3 dollars coin in on video poker, but only 1 dollar when playing slots. There are no exclusions listed about what type of games are eligible, but there was an asterisk stating that you should visit Player Services for complete details.

We were there in early November, and the strange thing about my wife getting the mailer is that all she played was the penny progressive bank of machines there. And she didn't play much. I probably ran through 500 times more than she did on dollar single hand games and I haven't gotten anything (different accounts). Nice property though, we had a good time.

Were you playing "full pay" games? That could possibly explain that. Tier points don't always correlate to comps unfortunately. But if you played several thousands of dollars through, I would think you'd get something...

I have no idea what "full pay" means. Over 100 % paytable maybe ? They don't have any of those at the M. I played 8/5 Ace$ Bonus when I was there. It didn't bother me that I didn't get anything, just struck me as odd. The trip was comped through PNG, and when I got back home my host here told me to expect mailers from the M. I just really couldn't believe my wife would get something from the tiny bit she wagered and me get nothing.

"Full Pay" is the best version of a game that casinos will typically offer.

100.76% Deuces
10/7 DB
9/5 Triple Bonus Plus
9/7 TDB
9/6 Jacks
99.45% Bonus Deuces
8/5 Bonus
Etc.

8/5 ACE$ (99.4%) is a "full pay" game. It's possible that it was set to create little, if any, mailer comps since it was the highest return game at M Resort already. I dunno if anyone else here has put a lot of coin in for that game. Alpax, have you?

What kind of offers were in the mailer?

Ok, thanks Vman, I thought it might mean something like that

What kind of offers were in the mailer?

2 nights at 25 % off, 40$ free play, and 10$ one time dining credit. My wife holds the Producer level card. Really bizarre offers I think. We live 2000 miles away . They must not want us to come back too badly lol.

The four full pay games they have are

8/5 Bonus Poker
8/5 Bonus Poker with ACE$
9/7 Double Bonus (the < 100% full pay edition)
9/6 Double Double Bonus (the < 100% full pay edition)

Based on old LasVegasAdvisor articles from Bob Dancer, there used to be 100%+ VP at the M Resort when the Marnell family operated it.

DougJ seems to get outstanding offers at the M Resort, that is if you are willing to do $100k coin in on a single trip.

I have not been back for over a year so my mailers are cut off now.

If your wife did $100 coin in on slots (100 points), you did $50,000 coin in on VP (10,000 hands of $1 denomination)? I think that should bring in a much better offer.

If it is more like $10 coin in to $5000 coin in on VP, your offers are more reasonable (that is about what I received for $3000-4000 coin in of VP). But at $10 coin in slots, it is not near enough to get into Producer that requires 30,000 tier points.

That's the offer my g/f got when we gave her dad her card and he played on it. Probably the standard intro offer for players they can "take or leave". Probably a grand coin in at slots that day. We torched it in April.
