Favorite Atlantic City Casino and why?

Post by nathanjame »

Hey everyone ! I was interested in what is your favorite Atlantic City Casino and Why. My Personal Favorite is the Tropicana. Why? Well in this Casino You get alot Of drunk players and/or guys who watch to much WSOP on tv or even just rich tourists looking to try it out. So if you are a GOOD player that can sit down for 7+ hours and fish for these guys you always walk away with a Large take. What about the rest of you guys? i could use some Intel on other casinos maybe i might use it. Feel free to check out this intelligence its very profitable.

You're referring to live poker, not video poker?

Wow....firstly, good post and welcome.   I found this info very interesting and frankly, surprising.     I USED to frequent Tropicana quite a bit, and their live poker room was where I spent about 50% of my time from 2009 (when I first visited AC) until early 2012 (when the Trop drastically changed their entire comp system and requirements, to the detriment of NON-slot players like myself.)   I basically would play just enough video poker  on the Tropicana's best offerings, and then use the comps and free rooms & food to further my Live Poker playing throughout different periods of the weeks and months during which I visited.     I played both Cash Game N/L Holdem, and tournaments......Sadly when the Trop killed a lot of their video poker offerings and comps, I left and started frequenting other places, and never really went back so I lost touch with their Poker room....it sounds like, based on your report, that the Trop management has made it an actual point of operational priority in order to attract all these mediocre tourist/players!    I congratulate your awareness and skill at developing such an opportunity for yourself, and you've now given me one more reason to consider going back and possibly checking this out for myself. As for my current favorite AC joint.....I no longer really have one (if I ever did).....I have admired certain AC properties based on very specific features or characteristics that they have which I find personally appealing......for example, I used to very much enjoy the old Atlantic Club Casino (a.k.a.   the AC Hilton) before it shuttered over 4 years ago....I liked the coziness and the rooms and the Bakery/Coffeeshop, and the Sinatra Themed Italian Restaurant "Patsy's" was always a treat.   I used to play and stay in AC a LOT during the period 2011-2014 and I had significant offers from nearly all the AC properties so I often would string together multiple week-long stays at various properties......AC-Club was my favorite place to stay as my "base" room and I would always max out the free room nights each week i stayed there. That's long gone though, as I now frequent AC very very infrequently;  we'll have to wait and see what shakes out with the new casinos coming this month as well as Sports Betting and what the new Sports Books will bring to existing casinos.

My favorite was always The Sands.
That place had a cool vibe to it and a bit of attitude.
I loved it when you could call up and get a one on one three deck BJ game for $25 a hand. Resorts was the only other AC casino that offered that but at $100 a hand.
The foolish decision to tear it down and leave a gaping hole in the center of AC and the boardwalk was the beginning of a very dark spiral for AC.
Loved everything about the Revell, except the casino.
I doubt I'll get back to AC in this lifetime.

Brighton Park is a nice feature of the boardwalk. I had no idea until now that the Sands was originally there. I would prefer a casino on the site just to relieve the Bally's and Caesars traffic.

I think the Borgata is still one of the best for video poker, just hard to find an empty machine sometimes.

Not only that, but for the few good machines they have, I always have a hard time getting them to recognize my card. Have to insert and reinsert multiple times. Also, I play the .25 machines.
