Seneca Niagara Falls Resort and Casino

Post by seemoreroyals »

We are taking a junket trip there mainly to see Niagara Falls and the surrounding area. We have never been before and are looking forward to seeing the fall foliage this time of year. Besides the falls, what other things are there to do close by? Any can't miss places to eat either at the resort or nearby? We are getting some food credit as part of the trip so we need to use it somewhere. How is the casino? I play video poker usually low volatility BP or JOB single or multi line limited to $5 a push. My wife likes $5 - $10 old fashioned reels. We play almost exclusively at CET properties but they don't have a property nearby and Niagara Falls has been on our bucket list for a while. Any advice or things to watch out for would be appreciated.

Thank you AP. I noticed on another website that there is 8-5 BP single line at both the 50 cent and $1 level, but there is no mention of how many machines. Did you happen to notice while you were there? Also those type of machines most of the time have other games on them such as DW, DDB, JOB, etc. but all they say is that there are numerous banks of them. Also is it true that you have to run $350 through the machine to get a point on the players card and in some cases more than that?

Seneca Niagara does have single line 8/5 bonus poker at 50c and $1 denominations. I can't tell you the precise number of machines, but would estimate it to be in the 15-20 range for each of those denominations. We will be stopping there tomorrow, so if you want more precise information, I may be able to get it.

In addition to the single line machines, there are two $1 triple/five play machines that have 8/5 bonus poker on them, and four 50c triple/five play machines.

Also available in single line at 25c denomination is 7/5 bonus poker and 8/5 JOB.

Our two favourite dining places there are the Western Door steakhouse, and La Cascata, an Italian themed restaurant. Both, in our opinion, are excellent.

It is true that for video poker, it takes $350 coinin to earn a players point. The point is worth $1, so the earn rate is 0.285%.

I can't tell you much about tourist attractions, as we don't do the tourist things there anymore. There is a website called niagarafallslive where you can find info on attractions in the area.

Thanks OMT for the useful information. I like that they have some decent low volatility machines there so I can grind while my wife hopefully gets lucky with their reel machines. She is braver than me and much luckier than me but I cannot get her to play VP. BTW are both of those restaurants there at the resort or do you have to walk or take a cab to get there?

Both of the two are on the property. There are other dining options on property, as well - I simply identified our two favourites. There is, of course, a buffet, a burger type place, the Three Sisters cafe, and Koi, an asian themed restaurant.

They are in the midst of a major renovation to the main hotel entrance and checkin area. Things are obviously not totally normal, but, overall, the construction does not cause a lot of inconvenience either.

I think we each get a free buffet since we have never played there before so hoping the buffet is decent as well. We get there Thursday night.

The description of the locations of the 50c and $1 machines offering 8/5 bonus poker is not exactly precise. All it says is several banks in the hotel and main casinos. I do not believe there are any in the hotel casino now.

I quickly located 21 $1 machines in the main casino yesterday with 8/5 bonus poker on them. If you enter the main casino from the hotel lobby, follow the walkway that heads to the far side. About halfway across, there is a ticket redemption/ATM area. Just beyond it, to its left, is a bank of 5 machines with the 8/5 bonus game. Or, you could turn right and head towards the Thunder Falls buffet, and quickly come to a video poker area that has 12 similar machines.
