Went to Horseshoe Hammond and earned just enough (25 Tier) for a fine Blackhawks t-shirt while winning $3 in play. Bad news, the gambler I have to worry about (my g/f's dad) lost $150 in play, bah.

Anyway...I did find some machines that might interest you.

First off, the 9/7 TDB 3play Ultimate X for dollars still exists near the poker room. That UX bet is optional, so you can play standard 9/7 TDB (99.58%) for $15 a round if you wish.

And what's new...your favorite is now/or has been at Horseshoe Hammond for dollars!!! The "newer" Deal/Draw poker. But it's less than standard 9/7 TDB with the deal table shown below. It's only 99.22% overall. These machines are on the opposite side of a bank that has Double STP, on the main floor between the high limit room and poker room.

I didn't test it myself, but $10/point as far as I know, because lower denomination paytables suck.

But when you play these 7 for 1 flush games...please try to hold 3 to a flush when appropriate. Things like AJ4 suited, etc. And of course, always hold two pair that doesn't contain aces.

The full strategy is here:

I found a single line dollar machine better than all of these, almost illegal in Indiana, but it was on Bonus Poker, not TDB. I'm a bit annoyed I did not find all of these a couple of months ago. Changes looked non-existent.

Best of luck when you get back to Chicago!!!

Ultimate 4 of a kind Bonus - single line dollars. 7/5 Bonus Poker. It's near the 50 play machines, iirc. According to the Wizard of Odds 7/5 Bonus is 99.96% after the bonus bet. Most other variants are 99%+ too. 8/5 Bonus Deluxe (99.88%), 8/5 Double Double Bonus (99.38%), 8/5 Jacks (99.21%), "Illinois Deuces" (99.10%).

I don't think the bonus rules change at all, but I didn't check them. They need to follow like this:
For 1 to 5 coins bet, the game plays like ordinary video poker. If the player bets a 6th coin, he will be eligible to play a bonus game if he gets any natural four of a kind on the draw.

In the bonus game, the player picks from 1 to 3 cards from a 53-card deck. Four aces will earn 3 picks, Four 2-4's will earn two picks, and four 5's to K's will earn one pick. If the player gets a four of a kind on the deal, then he will be awarded with an extra pick. The prizes associated with the 53-card bonus deck are as follows.

Joker: 3996
Aces: 400
2's-4's: 300
5's-K's: 200

When the joker is revealed, the player's total bonus win immediately jumps to 3996 credits and the bonus ends.
I'm guessing it's $10 a point too, there's definitely no sticker, but I didn't try it though. Too poor/not enough time. And I'm guessing it's a pretty swingy game.

Hope you pick a Joker if you try to play it!

Note it needs to be single line. Multiline is not nearly as good of a game. Also at bonus poker, you're supposed to break Aces-4s full.

This game sounds really appealing, but I can't find where widard of odds has it at 99.96%?  I'm seeing games in the 98-99% range. Can you provide a link on the return and strategy of the game? Thanks

He lists only the crappy paytables he found at that casino he found the game at. He's not bothered to update that page since.   I had to use the Wizard of Odds paytable analyzer. It defaulted to 7/5 bonus for calculation. It usually defaults to the best paytable available.

http://wizardofodds.com/games/video-poker/analyzer/

And I used his strategy creator with modified quad payouts to create a strategy. Ignore the overall return number on the strategy, the program assumes only 5 credits bet.

EDIT: Strategy link corrected!!!

http://wizardofodds.com/games/video-pok ... 50-d-800/I did a bunch of studying on this game today.  Regarding the payouts you used for the strategy generator, you used 205.22, 146.94 and 86.87.  I think you came up with those numbers by adding 25 + the additional value of the bonus pay.  However, shouldn't the base pay be 25 for the 4 5's-kK's, 40 for the 4 2's-4's and 80 for the 4 A's?I'm trying to get my hands around this calculation.  I see where the 99.96% came from.  However, it doesn't "feel" like the bonus play is good enough to take a 98.01% game up to 99.96%.  I need to think about it some more.

Yeah added the numbers the Wizard put for the value of the bonus when you draw to a four of a kind. Obviously you hold all four of a kinds so you don't use the bonus value of 4 of a kinds dealt to you.

Average Bonus Values:
Drawn 4 5-K 61.87 5-coin units (309.36 credits)
Drawn 4 2-4 121.94 5-coin units (609.72 credits)
Drawn 4 Aces 180.22 5-coin units (901.08 credits)

So adding the base values in...the four of a kinds are worth the following from a strategy perspective:

5-K 25+61.87 = 86.87 5-coin units
2-4 40+121.94 = 161.94 5-coin units
4 Aces 80+180.22 = 260.22 5-coin units

Yeah, you're right, I messed that up yesterday. Ugh. Sorry. Strategy should be this. You'll see the hand probabilities match the analyzer now:

http://wizardofodds.com/games/video-pok ... -50-d-800/

Remember at a MINIMUM, for every 4 of a kind you get 200 credits for a bonus (40 5-coin units). And when you draw 4 5-Ks you have a 1 in 53 chance to win basically a royal. Draw 4 Aces, make that 3 in 53, with a guaranteed 600 credit bonus win.

So this bonus bet is worth a LOT on average. Also it will probably send variance through the roof too.

When breaking the full houses on Aces-4s, this actually lowers the base game return to 97.74%; however, it increases the bonus game return even more to 111.05%, which leads to the weighted average of:

(5/6)*97.74% + (1/6)*111.05% = 99.96%

thanks for the info. i plan on going there tomorrow night. I will probably play about 1,500 hands. Just enought to get 1,000 tier credits and to get a few four of a kinds. Just enough to get a feel for the game.

It sounds like you are from chicago as well. We should probably meet up at the HS sometime and exchange war stories.

Actually living in the STL area right now, but g/f's family lives in Oak Lawn. So get up to Chicago fairly frequently. Probably go to Hammond once a quarter or so.

Hope you get more than your fair share of quads! Should be a rollercoaster since in this game is you're paying an extra dollar just for something that is only awarded when you get a quad. Similar to one of billyjoe's other beloved games, wheel poker. Sorry I didn't see any wheel poker there, billy.
