I played about 700 hands on videopoker.com tonight. Got two quads. First one I wish I saved for the casino, dealt garbage and redraw AAAA4. I don't recall ever doing that... I was about -360 at that point, and got 3 picks for 200 credits each for 1000 total with the quad. About 300 hands later, I lost 640 of it and was even overall. Then got 4 Jacks from a pair and got another 200 credit bonus pick.

Definitely a variance rollercoaster I think. Also strategy varies more from regular bonus than I first thought. Holding an Ace is similar to DDB with the bonus picks. 2s-4s are better than a four flush, a single Q or J are better than 3 to a SF (No HC/1 gap) I am thinking about tinkering with my sim code to test this game without having to play it so much, but might take me awhile.

It's amazing you drained 640 in between 4 of a kinds. You are right - very volatile.

I think (or hope) that once you get through 40,000 and you get one royal flush and hopefully a joker, then the 99.96% return will be apparent.

A couple of interesting facts that I noticed:

- Royals occur every 39,986 hands in this game (instead of a more typical 44,000 hands). I suppose this is due to the fact you are holding ace onlys more often then nonsuited AK/AQ/AJ? Just a guess.

- You never hold suited KT

- It lists an ace only ahead of a suited A23 A24 A34

- I don't see A25, A35, A45 even mentioned. Is that ever held?

Nope no three to a SF ace low is held in basic strategy. Four aces is just worth too much, a minimum of 1000 credits after the bonus. I noticed that too last night, but forgot to mention it.

And if you only get one joker in 40k hands, you'll definitely be in the hole. I'll look into the cycle for that a little later, but it's definitely shorter than 40k.

FYI, the cycle for picking the Joker is 1 in 14,578 hands. So you'd like to have at least 3 of them by the 40k hand mark.

Thanks, VMan. As soon as it stops snowing up there , I will do a trip to visit family, and make my way over to Horseshoe Hammond.
OK - I just saw where some guy won a jackpot at Horseshoe Hammond. He was followed home by two men, who then robbed him of his winnings.

Ted - I need your protection when I visit next !!!

Not only was he robbed but he was shot too. When Harrah's Joliet first opened there was a huge problem with people getting mugged and injured as they were walking in the parking tower after playing in the casino. I got your back billyjoe.

I meant on the main floor. Sorry if that made you not find the machine tonight.

It should be a one or two banks over from Deal/Draw poker, Big Times Draw Poker, Good Times Pay, Double STP, and Ultimate X. Away from the high limit room/poker room. It's about parallel to the wall separating the high limit room and poker room.

Hammond sure does have a lot of "gimmick games".

And yeah watch yourself winning big late at night apparently...yikes!

Hey - I found it.  There is only one right?I played $10,000 coin in.  Just under 1,700 hands.  That gave me 1,000 tier credits and another 1,000 bonus tier credits.I got the expected 4 four of a kinds.   3 of them were 5-ks and one was four deuces.  None of them were on the initial deal, so I got a total of 5 bonus cards.  Unfortunately, I got 4 - 200s and 1- 300.  Since I underperformed on the bonus cards, and didn't get a royal, I ended up losing $1,100.This game is fun, but the money goes fast.  You need 4 of a kinds to replenish your funds.I'm going to play 40,000 hands of this over the next few months.  Just to see if I can get the 1 royal and 3 jokers. Thanks for finding it.  Keep me posted on new machines as you find them.
