Heading up this way for a couple days. Any thoughts on this casino? Any better places close by? Thanks in advance.

Paul,
Good luck. Its been years since we were up there but it was so beautiful with the falls. We enjoyed both Seneca and Fallsview Casinos. Hope you have a great time.

Assuming you are intending to play video poker, there is nothing better in the area. The casinos on the Canadian side have awful pay scales.
At Seneca, there is not much available in single line 25c, unless you like 8/5 JOB or 7/5 bonus poker.
When I am there, I play 5 line 50c 8/5 bonus poker. You can also play 3 line 50c 8/5 bonus poker. But, there are only 4 machines with these games on them.
At the $1 level, there are 2 machines with 3 or 5 play 8/5 bonus poker.
Even though there are not very many of these multi line machines, there is not usually a problem getting on them.
There are a fair number of single line machines with 8/5 bonus poker at the $1 level. Also at the $1 level, they have 15 or 16 full pay pick'em machines that are hard to get on.
If you want to get really frisky, they have a few $5 full pay pick'ems, and 9/6 JOBs.
There are, of course, tons of nachines with lesser games and pay tables.

Thanks for the responses, We have been here now since yesterday, having a great time and weather has been nice. I went to the casino late last night/early morning while the family was sleeping. Even as dead as it was, no chance getting near the Pickem' except for $5. Gave it a shot but no luck. I moved on before I went broke and bounced around to some of the other games mentioned above. In the end a game called Ace's DDB,single line, 9/6, $0.25 kept me playing for a while.

If you mean Ace$ Bonus Poker where you get a Royal Flush payout for getting the four Aces spelling ACE$ in a row, I likely avoid that paytable because it should pay 2 for 1 on both two pair and three of a kind. If it does then the game has 94.21% payback. Even 6/5 DDB is better than that.

I live on the Canadian side and go quite often to Fallsview. When the casino first opened 10 years ago the bells were ringing constantly. The casino came under new management about 6 years ago and the casino tightened up the machines. One issue is that for the poker/keno machines, unless you win over $3000, the bell no longer rings, so you don't know when anybody is winning now. The payouts are actually better in Niagara than they are at the other casinos in Ontario. I have been to Seneca in Niagara Falls, N.Y. and the payouts are actually the same or worse. Plus, in Canada you don't have to pay tax if you win big. At the Fallsview you get $1000 for royal (playing quarters). Unfortunately about 2 weeks ago they changed the keno machines around. There are now something like 12 different keno games to play on, but there are only 6 machines available and the payout on caveman keno has been lowered to almost half. At the moment the caveman keno situated at the bars haven't been touched (eg. you can still get $1000 for a 6/6 on quarters), but I am sure it will only be a matter of time before they too are changed. If you go the "old" casino, Casino Niagara and play VP, don't hit max. The max on those machines are 25 coins, not 5.
To all Americans who do come to Canada....remember that we are a different country and therefore use different currency! U.S. money will not work in the machines, so don't call over the attendant to fix the machine....and yes, it happens all the time!!!

Could you elaborate?
What games and pay tables does Fallsview offer?
