When we visit Las Vegas we usually stay on the strip. Is it worth a trip out to Red Rock to play video poker??

First, welcome to the forum. We don't make Vegas as much but Red Rock is still our favorite and you can also play the other "Station casinos" are amongst our favorites. Red Rock has lots to offer incredible pool(s), bowling alley, theater, and we were never disappointed in our hits. Best of Luck.

We played Red Rock several years ago for a few hours and got the best offers for rooms etc. The comped rooms were great and the casino is really nice. They also have bingo. Tons of VP machines with excellent paytables. Unfortunately, we have not had good results but then again, we have been on an incredibly bad streak no matter where we play (except on cruise ships with the worst paytables) that defies all mathematical odds.

Thanks for the info- both of you seem to have been on VP a long time- Is there anyway for me to change my screen name. I signed up quick using GregH and would love to change it but can't see anywhere to change it in the player profile settings.??

You might have to ask "Webman" on that one. It doesn't look like you can automatically change that. It probably needs an administrator's approval.

No, you are not missing anything. My last trip I decided to go out since I heard so much about it. While they have some great games like multiple progressives on the same machine like for Aces, 2,3,4 and some huge consecutive royal bonus. 2 of us went and got 1 quad out of a 5 hour session for both of us.

And, despite the fact they have good games, that's a reason to not go there?

If everyone avoided all venues where someone else had a bad session, no video poker would be played anywhere.

Despite our bad streak the last time we were at Red Rock, we intend to return as the comped rooms are the best accommodations, comped or paid for, we have had in Vegas. Besides which, we hope for better results next time. If things even out, as the mathematical types say should happen over the long run, we are due for a good run yn the future.

I heard from the VPFree forums as well as the Frugal Vegas Jean $¢ott blog, that if you are an actual winner from the station casinos or played the up to 99.8% payout games extensively, you will be no-mailed.

Even getting a W2G royal flush payout can put you on the no-mailed list. So no one walks out a total winner in the long run.
