Where are good casinos for video poker in Vegas?

Post by Doc357 »

Hello All.  My wife and I are planning to go to Vegas next month after a five year hiatus and I wanted to ask if anyone could let me know what casinos have decent 0.10 JoB  (5 coin max bet plain janes) as close to 9/6 as possible and 100 play 0.01 JoB machines with the  same desired pay table?  Especially a casino that offers both in the same spot would be great!  We are staying downtown but we'll have a rental car and I'm willing to drive around to go to places we will enjoy.  It can be smokey or off the main strip.  My favorite place to play in Reno for years was Cal Neva until they pulled almost all of the V.P. machines that I went there for.  If you know this casino you can tell I am not seeking a glamorous place to play as long as the right games were there!    Thank you and let me know if there are any questions I can answer to narrow the list down.  Darrel.

JoB has been disappearing in Vegas. It used to the most popular game years ago but not any more. However the last time (june) I was at the Skyline Casino it had JoB 9-6 in 5 cent, 10 cent, 25 cent, 50 cent and 1 dollar. Some machines there are the old coin droppers and some are newer machines. The Skyline is on Bolder Hi-way near Sunset. Also on Bolder Hi-way, Bolder Station Casino has some full pay nickel, up to dollars on double double bonus (10-6) deuces wild and double bonus (10-7). Hard to find those games full pay in nickels but  Station Casinos have a few machines.I don't believe you will find and 1 cent 100 play in JoB with decent pay tables around Vegas any more. Not positive though.Hope this helps some

Welcome Darrel!First off, I am sorry to hear cal neva in Reno has ditched the Video Poker.....I actually am very familiar with that place (as I was with the entire downtown RENO scene from 1992 all the way through 2007 when I lived in California.....since moving back to my childhood home of New England in 2007 I have only been back to reno twice, and I miss it terribly.......I would say your best bet in Vegas is to spend a lot of time downtown (my favortie place to stay and play in Vegas), and you might find some obscure 10 cent machines with your preferred games and paytables...I know for a fact the Horseshoe used to have specific 10 cent machines in their mix of VP .......

It's not 100 play but the Palms Casino has 9/6 JoB in 1c and 2c 50 play. It's "just inside entrance to the right of sportsbook" per vpFREE2.com.

I'm sorry to hear about the disappearance of JoB video poker.  When I was last there I was unpleasantly surprised to see the lack of choices and bad pays in v.p. six years ago when I went.  At least this time I will have an idea were to try.  Thank you Case and Rebus.
