The new casino, now named We-Ko-Pa Casino, opens October 29, 2020. The name Fort McDowell is being retired.

Wow. Hard to understand why they would throw away the Fort McDowell brand.

I need to check this out as policy may be changing. There definitely will be a non-smoking gaming area. I have been told that the new casino will have a smoking area and also that it will be smoke-free. I will try and talk with someone knowledgeable in the near future to find out for sure. Currently, masks are required but smoking is allowed in most parts of the gaming floor in the old casino.

Just verified that the new casino will be smoke free with designated smoking areas outside. Hopefully, this will be permanent and not just because of Covid.

That is good news Oatabill. One day all casinos will be smoke free. ( I will probably be dead by then)

Yes indeed. Hopefully, they will make it permanent and there will be no flip flop. Only time will tell.
