Where can I find the best video poker in north east Missouri....Ameristar in Saint Charles? Or, is there a better casino I should visit...

I'll answer my own question...We visited the Ameristar Casino in Saint Charles Missouri and though I didn't go to the upstairs level...the down stairs isn't video poker friendly...I didn't see any triple play other than Ultimate X and other high volatility games...I did manage to be dealt 4 4's with a kicker, but left with a little less than I dedicated to the battle...next stop the SouthPoint in Vegas...a veritable shrine to 9/6 video poker...

Sorry, I was at River City when you originally asked the question.    Also, I personally would call Hannibal NE Missouri, not the St. Louis metro area.

And you must have unfortunately missed the 8 "full pay" VP machines (best is 9/6 Jacks, also has 99.45% Bonus DW, 8/5 Bonus and 9/6 DDB) that are shoved in a corner downstairs, which make you feel punished for playing them.

But yeah, most other quarter machines are mediocre at best. Some 9/5 DDB games, but more 8/5. Also Ameristar are big enough jerks to even offer 6/5 DDB!

If you get back to St. Louis, I think Hollywood gives better offers and also has one full pay bank of 8 machines that offer 35/8/5 Bonus, 9/6 JoB, 99.45% Bonus DW, 99.29% Joker, 9/7 DB, and 9/6 DDB. They also have a few machines that offer 9/5 Triple Bonus Plus (99.8%, their best game available).

There isn't a large selection of good game here, but they do actually exist!

Good luck at South Point! Love that place! Only casino I can think of that lets "gimmick games" also be "full pay" at the quarter level. And bartops too!

If you do, good luck! And that "full pay" bank of 8 slant-tops that I referred to is roughly in the middle of the main video poker area next to some Multi-Strike machines and an ATM.
