Hit several royals there during the Maloof era, but then they all stopped. Used to go there daily in those days.

Much appreciated Rebus for going out of your way to checking it out. The signs can definitely badly fool people.

I take back what I said about SL having to play elsewhere, it is safe to play at Fiesta Rancho. I do not have a casino 5 minutes away.

I miss the days when I could go into a casino and smack a RF or 2 out of it with my flipper. You still need to keep a watchful eye not only on points and pay tables, but on the denominations as well. As I've been noticing lately on other machines,  quarter 9/6 DDB have been dropped to 9/5 and that goes for the .50, even across the street at Texas Station. Golden Nugget in Laughlin no longer allows free play to be used on multi-play 9/5 DDB, or 9/6 TDB machines, so there is another drawback.Right after Red Rock opened 10 years ago, I could go in there and play for 7 - 8 hours on nickel 10-play on $100. Now it seems that will only get you about 20 minutes if yer lucky, and that is anywhere.

OK, my wife and I just got back from Fiesta. We played for an hour, and couldn't hit anything better than a full house between us. I did put my glasses on and re-read those plaques that were slapped on to those three 99.8% machines and they read $12 in = 3 points (not 1 point as I originally thought) No point multipliers or free play accepted on those machines either. I know Rebus test drove them yesterday, but those plaques are still there. Maybe I'll play on them for a bit next weekend before the drawing.Ended up with a rat Bingo Pack for the 5 point Cowboy Roundup kiosk game I hereby  rename Fiesta to "Bastardo"

Update on VP at Fies... I mean Bastardo.Played 8/5 DDB nickels for about an hour and hit 3 quads- two 5-K's and one 2,3,4 w/ kicker. Played about 2 hours on those 99.8% machines by the players club- quarter DDB, and did not hit a damn thing. 3 Full Houses was my best. Not one single quad. There is a reason those machines are always empty...

It is based on all the rumors I've heard about Stations, I am only speculating people who play that get no-mailed (after they hit one or two Royals) or even get their boarding pass revoked.

I think a $100 bill will allow you to play 8/5 DDB on nickels for a good few hours. Hopefully you will get mailers for playing that.

DDB on the up to 99.8% machines are 9/6 at quarters and up, so that shouldn't affect the mailers, not yet anyways. I stopped playing the 100% machines as point multipliers and free play can't be used on those, as well as the dollar to point penalty. Besides, the chance on hitting a quad is basically the same as hitting one on a 8/5 or 9/5 (or 7/5 machine for that matter).  I still have yet to see anyone hit a royal at Fiesta...  As for mailers, the only thing that has affected our mailers is if we don't play there, the mailers will stop. Main Street Station (Boyd) downtown has 9/6 DDB nickels (3 slant tops as you walk in directly in front of the doors right across the street from the outdoor parking lot, and 6 in the northeast corner of the casino floor), and I do hit quads pretty regularly there. Got 4AWK on a pair last Sunday. They also give you a scratch card for each quad you hit (SF and RF get one too) that gives you a shot at $5000, but most of them are only good for $1. My wife and I average about 9 - 10 between us on any given night there.  And yes, Sea Lions like Led Zeppelin. And so do Dolphins!

For the DDB on the 99.8% bank, I think the stations website list that it is the Aces and Faces variant. I think it with all the high card holds and the 80 for 1 payout for getting a quad out of it or even with a kicker, the bigger hits are more frequent. The regular DDB requires 2s, 3s, 4s for the 80 for 1 and the kicker opportunities. I wish it was more commonly available in casinos nation wide. Regardless of the game you choose on that bank, I think it will register on their system that you've played on a loose bank.

The scratch cards at MSS seem to be a good offer even for the minimum prize of $1. For nickels it will add 20 credits to the return which is substantial.

The scratch cards at MSS seem to be a good offer even for the minimum prize of $1. For nickels it will add 20 credits to the return which is substantial. The 99.8 bank has both regular DDB 9/6 (98.98%) and DDA&F 9/6 (99.45%) at quarter and up. The nickel and dime variations are lower pay table and 10 coin bet to get the 8000 for the RF. There is the RF penalty (1500 coins) if you only bet 5. I seem to do much better at the 8/5 DDB there, so methinks I'll stick with that when playing nickels at Fiesta.  I also do ok on the 9/5 nickel progressive where you have to bet 10 coins to get the progressive payouts for the low quads with and without kickers and the RF.  There is also a 7/5 bank of that same game there, so I avoid playing that one.Right now there is a triple play nickel progressive near the garage entrance with the jackpot at over $13,000 for a dealt royal, and growing by about $1000 per day. At the MSS, there is also another set of scratch cards for quarters and up, with mostly a $2. I take these into consideration even with the 6x or 7x point multipliers going on at other Boyd properties when playing, and it seems to be an advantage to play at MSS. Even better on Young At Heart day on Wednesdays. The nickel DDB 9/6 with the scratcher makes it a 99.99% game - pretty much even. The quarters and up DDB 9/6 make it a 1.01% positive game. The $5000 scratcher is popping up on an average of 1 every 3 months.
