Shreveport?

Morning, everyone! I live in Dallas and find that I frequently go to the Oklahoma-Texas border casinos rather than making the 3+ hour drive to Shreveport (haven't been in 3 years or so).
Can someone give the status of Shreveport casinos? Are they lively, entertaining, fun, loose enough — in other words, is Shreveport worth the drive?
Would appreciate any details, as I'm considering making the drive over the Christmas holiday — but Choctaw and Winstar are only an hour away, so I'd like some advice before heading east.
