video Blackjack question...

I searched the archives and didn't find anything to answer my questions about video based blackjack.
Can anybody tell me if the games are "true to life" Blackjack games similar to what video poker is to real poker or are they some other variant? Do they just continuously deal or do they deal off of one to six(or eight) decks like the table games?
I found a machine at the Silverton last month that would play between one and nine hands at a time and then over at the Palms they had a single line Blackjack.
I've been practising on the video software so that I'll know Basic Strategy but that is based on "table rules".
Anybody got any good info on this? Thanks!!

Video blackjack works off an RNG just like VP. The key is to figure out exactly what rules the machine is using. Many machines only pay 1-1 on BJs which is deadly over time. Once you know all the rules then you can determine the payback. Hmmm, kind of like paytables on VP.

Video BJ can be a very effective way of earning points on multipler days with a casino that has good CB. It is extremely low variance, unlike VP.

MikeA is an accomplished BJ player, hopefully, he will add more when he returns.

Shadowman,
I don't remember any displayed pay tables. Did I miss them or are they not displayed?......if not how do you determine the pay schedule other than trial and error?
I wonder if a simple counting system like Speed Count would work? If it's just a continuous shuffle then no counting system will work. Hmmmm!
