If you just spend the night in the casino, you won't have to drive anywhere.

Nix the running around part. It's getting to and from thats gonna hit you in the wallet unless you hit decent. As far as getting around, Ginny will tell you a majority of the properties have some sort of shuttle connection. Are they gonna cut the paytables even more because the machines are built from a majority of petroleum based products?

I've never understood playing pennies, but I guess it suits some people. Me, I'll throw down my change, win some or lose some, then get out on the town.

Deloradeuces, this thread started as a penny slot topic but kinda got bent like they usually do. Most VP experts will tell you to break your casino monotony by seeing a show or doing some sightseeing, especially in LV where there is so much to see and do along with beau coup amounts of shopping(most women will agree). As I previously posted, most VP players don't play slots period but those that do will venture a $20 in a penny or a nickel multi-line machine. Occasionally, the average OEJ will hit something nice and go right back to playing VP like they originally intended.(at least thats what I do!)

[QUOTE=EDC1977]Regardless of age, gender or nationality! Slots don't discriminate, only want more money.              LOL, a most excellent quote,   Thanks, EDC.   So to recap :  black jack = lower variance, Video Poker bigger win / losses.  Slots for entertainment purposes.  How might  playing Hold 'em poker against live opponents fit in the before mentioned lineup?   Assuming all games of skill played equally well.

Big-S,    I'm interested in hearing responses to that question about Live Poker too.  Man, I would think setting a variance and ER on that game would be about impossible because so much depends on the Players knowledge of the probabilities, his memory and his ability to bluff with a straight face!  I wear my emotions on my sleeve so I know I have no business around a live poker table.

OK Big Steve, lets look at this for a moment. How would one go about attaching something like variance to a live game like Texas or Omaha poker? One might come up with some sort of EV or ER but so many factors are involved like number of players per table, player skill, hot streak or not streak, opponents skill level, ante level etc. etc. etc. I'm not much of a math whiz per se but I'd be pulling out the rest of my hair trying to put together a formula for this one.Blackjack has somewhat more of a formulaic pattern as there is ante level, player skill level, single deck or shoe, players ability to count correctly and luck of course. It's easy to point the finger at the wheel person or the cat next to you at the table but the bottom line is whether or not you get the desired cards.

It's easy to point the finger at the wheel person or the cat next to you at the table but the bottom line is whether or not you get the desired cards.Or that YOU can convince everyone that you did get the desired cards!  I don't think there is a way to plug that into either ER or Variance.  When you are playing Holdem, You only see 2 cards at first and then a total of 5 cards after the flop, then a sixth and finally a 7th, right?  That is not many!.  There really are NO concrete indicators as to what everyone else has so there is no way to know how the community cards enhance their hands.  You can't go by their bets because (1) they may be bluffing and (2) they may not know what their hand is worth! From what I've heard, it really doesn't make as much difference what you have as what you can make everyone else THINK you have.  I guess you could base your chances to draw a hand on the cards you know about but probably more important is how many different ways you could make a hand.  And that last, while important, doesn't factor in what you think everyone else might have.I think the really good players have to depend on their ability to read their opponents and bluff them.  There is no way I know of to quantify that.I'd say that if you are an accomplished poker player, then your chances are much better at showing a profit than by playing Blackjack or VP.  The reason being that you should be able to scout the poker rooms and find low limit tables where the tourists are feeling their testosterone!  They would make good marks!
