BJ in OK

Post by MikeA »

Get you minds out of the gutters!Just heard that there is a casino in north-central Oklahoma that is going to be having no-ante Blackjack on Tuesday nights in August.  Might have to brush up on a few skills and go down and try to punish them for having that blasted ante!  Be my luck though that they will have full tables by the time I get there....can't leave until 5pm and they open the game at 5pm.Might have to team with someone and backcount for them!  Just joking.  I don't know how to count.

Repeat after me, 1,2,3,......

Reminds me of the vasectomy method used down here. They put a Cherry Bomb in a Soda Can, light it and ask the guy to hold it in  his hands and count to ten. When he reaches five he tucks the can between his legs to finish the count on the other hand.

MikeA, don't know if this is in your neck of the woods, but Southland Park in West Memphis, AR. has an Ad in the July Casino Player magazine that has to be the 1st of a kind. There Ad, in part , reads, "Had your Royal Flush today? Over 300 Video Poker Machines. Agressive Pay Tables."

The first time I've seen in print (from a Casino) the recognition that Paytables are important.

It is in my stomping grounds actually. I've been there my fair share of times. I never intended for any of my comments to seem rabid in reference to the place I was just looking for ideas from some of the most knowledgeable vp players I know as to why it wasn't going so well for me there. I did have some nice hits there but was never able to enjoy playing vp there the way I have at Tunica for many years. I would love to be able to say its my favorite place for many reasons. They do have a lot of vp machines to choose from and all the employees there are very nice. Its clean, safe and close to me. I would never go back to Tunica if my play was a bit more to my taste. I've never paid much attention to paytables and I've done just fine for many years at the same casino in Tunica for many years. I want playability (if theres such a word). I've just had better success at Tunica. As far as thier ad goes what does aggressive paytables meen? I play Double Double Bonus single line and if I'm not mistaken a full house pays 40 credits, flush 30 credits, straight 20 credits. If thats aggressive then thats what they have. Like I said they do have a lot of vp to choose from and if you are ever in the Memphis area you should check it out. I don't think they consider themselves a casino though I was told they were a "games of skill establishment" or something to that nature. You say tomato, I say to-ma-to!

pokerguy, you saved me a trip. 40-30-20 agressive?  I thought there was supposed to be truth in advertsing.  From the picture on a chip they had in their ad they must also race Greyhounds there? (Ok, I can see it coming.. Dogs not Buses)

I'll remember to check it out a little closer the next time I go. I did mention that these paytables were from DDB which was the game I play. I will take a closer look at the other games there because DDB is not everyones favorite. I'll stop by there next week and check it out a lot better because it could be that a machine in a different location might have better paytables. They have so many poker machines there and just about any game you could possibly want to play. I wouldn't be surprised one bit if I pay a little closer attention to the paytables I might find that theres a machine with 45-35-25 DDB. What would you consider to be an aggressive paytable on DDB?
They do have live greyhound racing which is a lot of fun. They also have live simalcast greyhound and horse racing from practicly every track in the country you can wager on. I heard they opened up a new steakhouse also which is supposed to very good.
