KJOHN I do not think webman was attempted to be humurous I think he was trying to be informative. So basically what you are saying is that tribal casinos are crooked and unregulated. I believe they are regulated just like other casinos Please correct me if I am incorrect. Native americans as a whole are rather social and I am sure webman would be welcome to enter a Wig Wam.

The ONLY Indian casinos I'm familiar with are the ones in OKLAHOMA. The original post regarded someone who was going to be in the area and wanted to know the take on close casinos.   I have researched the Ok casinos extensively as well as those in Missouri. ...There is a difference between crocked and unregulated...Crooked (not straight; dishonest or immoral or evasive") and Unregulated ("not regulated; not subject to rule or discipline, lacking definite structure or organization")   "The laws, (in Oklahoma) include minimum state regulatory requirements on games, accounting and auditing standards, the licensing of employees, liability insurance, property claim procedures and several other provisions." (NIGC)." The mission of NIGA is to protect and preserve the general welfare of tribes striving for self-sufficiency through gaming enterprises in Indian Country. To fulfill its mission, NIGA works with Federal government and Congress to develop sound policies and practices and to provide technical assistance and advocacy on gaming related issues. In addition, NIGA seeks to maintain and protect Indian sovereign governmental authority in Indian Country."

(IGRA)." The Oklahoma Indian Gaming Association, established in 1986, is a non-profit organization of 32 Indian Nations with other non-voting associate members representing organizations, tribes and businesses engaged in tribal gaming enterprises from around Oklahoma. The common commitment and purpose of OIGA is to advance the welfare of Indian peoples – economically, socially and politically."

The above is just a sample of the info available...Law suits, disputes and cloudy rules are abundant in OK

The Buffalo Run casino in Miami, Ok is a rounded dome casino right on I44 and it's often refereed to a Wigwam casino. ( "A Native American dwelling commonly having an arched or conical framework overlaid with bark, hides, or mats)"
Lighten up edog...No offence was meant and I would still suggest that one needs to be just as concerned with WHERE they play as one is with pay tables and odds and correct play....

I wish I could lighten up but if their is racial bias percieved or otherwise. It is my duty as a proud member of the ONEIDA NATION of WISCONSIN to point it out. And I willYou're making yourself miserable based on this definition of duty and you're definitely making it boring for those of us who read these posts looking for information about video poker.  I don't think I'm being uncharitable in suggesting that you "perceive" a bit more racism than most and might perceive a wee bit more than what is intended by others.  Since you are the sole judge of what you perceive, if you wish to rationalize your unhappiness, every time a bunch of letters come together from a particular set of patterns in a post, I feel sorry for you, but not as sorry for all the people who are not meaning to offend but you apparently are hellbent on being offended by.One definition of racism is: "a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior..."  This is from the first definition in an online dictionary.A question:  If I started a sentence with "Native Americans as a whole are _____" and I filled in the blank with any particular characteristic, would I be making a racist statement?  Would you have to know my race before you passed judgment on me?  Does it really matter whether the blank is filled in favorably or unfavorably?Hey, I understand that there are some things that we all have to get off our chest once in a while.  That's why I'm posting when I suspect that it will have no real effect on your opinions, demeanor, or future posts.  At a minimum, try to say something that you haven't already said.  Be a little more unpredictable.  Celebrate the differences in people...it would be boring if they were all the same.  And before you think I might be edging towards racism here, the differences I mean to celebrate are differences in opinion.Sidenote:  And if you had been around this forum a bit longer, you would know our friend from south of the border is always making taco jokes.  It was funny.
