I certainly won't argue the point with skill at slots.
But a couple of points. It would seem to me that unless "doubling" a bet could be proven to be weighted toward "win" or "lose" then it would make no difference whether you doubled or not...6 one way and a half dozen the other. Flip a coin...double or nothing.
Sort of the same thing with "Lock". Unless you can use reflex skills to see a wheel icon in time to hit the stop or lock button, there still would be no skill involved so it wouldn't make any difference whether you Locked or not.
We had those general types of machines (not on all fours but similar) in Oklahoma. The were all tied to some BINGO game and once you hit spin, you could either hit "DAUB" to stop it or just let the machine sing and blink and finally quit spinning on its own. You could not anticipate what you would "lock" on when you hit the "Daub". The Daub button had about the same influence on the outcome as did rubbing the screen with the palm of your hand, or slapping the sides. Plenty of people did it. And some of them claimed they won because they slapped the machine. Personally, I favor a green onyx frog.
