Blackjack with side bet

Post by wilcoxfun »

Went to play at Metropolis Harrahs and they now have a side bet with flush paying five times, straight paying ten times, 3 cards pairing twenty times and straight flush playing thirty times your bet.

I decided to play the side bet sometimes and started hitting straights.  The lady next to me was hitting three cards pairing up.  I mean by three cards her two cards and the dealers top card.  If they are all eights which she did twice she gets paid twenty times her bet. She decided to cash out at five hundred up.
I got luck to hit the straight flush which paid me $150 as I was playing $5.  I cashed out $200 up for the day.

Great news wilcox, I would do the essencially the same thing, such as: staying on 16 if the two cards are 8's and hoping for the 3rd 8.Same hos true (obviously) for 9+9.

This is "21+3 Extreme", Ted. Blackjack strategy is unaffected because your 3 card side bet hand is determined by your initial two cards and the dealers up card. So I would only stay on 8-8 or 9-9 if it was correct for me to do so.

Also CET should be ashamed to offer this crappy side bet. It's all over Vegas and Tunica and has it too.

13.39% house edge for six decks, and 12.89% for 8 decks.
What's really annoying is it's a spinoff of 21+3, which is a very nice side bet with only a 3.24% house edge.

21+3 Extreme house edge thread at Wizard of Vegas

Nevertheless, nice hits wilcox!
