We definitely want to find something that works without timing out as you are right, that would confuse people. The catch of course is people might leave the games before their score is updated. If they are more than 7 hands behind, that could be a real let-down as well. We are working on finding the right balance as well as a simple way for people to verify their score has been stored before leaving a game.

I have extended the timeout period for the time being until I work out a solution. You guys shouldn't see the error any more except in extreme cases. For now, be sure your score has updated before leaving the gameplay screen.

I've been getting timeouts (connection error 427) fairly frequently while playing in any of the contests. I'm pretty certain that my internet connection is good, and this hasn't happened to me at all until the new contests were posted yesterday.
Playing on a mac, safari is the browser.

The time outs are constant and REALLY annoying.

Just try to remember that this is a beta test and it's our JOB to find these kinds of problems. I know, it didn't help me much when I lost thousands of credits.

Thanks for the catch-up and trip down memory lane on some of the golden oldie (and goody) members.

I'm confident the timeout issue from 2007 has been mostly resolved, but if anyone is still using Internet Explorer 7, please try unplugging your dial-up modem, wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in.
Yes, there are definitely some good folks on this topic that I miss.
As for the error yesterday, I haven't heard that from anyone else. Try closing your browser and opening it again to see if that fixes it for you.
