I've been using some of them for years. Even though I do know the games I usually play pretty well, it's comforting to be able to look at the card and confirm my thoughts on some of the more tricky hands. They are spot on, from a playing strategy point of view.

And, they are extremely durable. I have had to replace a couple of mine because I absentmindedly left them behind when I closed out a session, but otherwise, they've lasted forever (well, 25+ years or so, anyways).

They can be invaluable to new players and useful to most seasoned ones. I highly recommend them.

Only if you can find a full pay schedule exactly matches his cards.

I appreciate the kind words from several people here.

There is a difference between the strategy cards and the Winner's Guides, although the strategies themselves are the same for those games where both exist.

The Winner's Guides go over several hundred example hands --- the type of hands that will give you problems. They are too big and cumbersome to take to the casino with you, but as a study guide, they are excellent.

Both the cards and the Winner's Guides use a notation system that is different from other authors. You'll see things like SF3 +1, SF3 +0, SF3 -1, and SF3 -2. While these notations are fully explained in the handout to the strategy card, and in the Winner's guides, and in my classes (going on now), for those of you who want to skip the directions and go straight to the cards --- you just may have some problems. Simply put, if you can't understand what I mean, you can't get full value out of the products.

Bob, I am thinking about purchasing your guide to assist me in adjusting to lower pay tables that have became more standard everywhere we play. I have been playing VP for about 15 years and on a normal trip stick to bets of $2.5 to $5 a push, changing up between single game and 3 to 5 play games playing BP, DB, DDB, or some variation of DW. I try to find the best opportunity in terms of payback given my comfort zone using a VP scouting guide I have had for a long time.

When using the training program on this website I rarely if ever make mistakes and when I do they are not red light type mistakes. What can your guides do to help me, a veteran rec player, achieve better results in an increasingly difficult playing environment?
