Would any other poster be allowed a COMMERCIAL on this forum?

Posters who have a long history posting here generally are allowed that, yes. If it's actually a relevant resource. We allowed Florida Phil to link to his site when he had one.

But in general, people should contact us before posting a link, to be sure it is appropriate (as Phil did and as Bob Dancer has).

One member was asked to stop posting links to a product they invented (after being allowed to) because they were doing so excessively. These things are handled on a case by case basis.

What isn't allowed is spammers who post here a few times simply to promote their site. They get banned almost immediately.

Links to sites that promote online wagering are also not permitted.

The post in question did not involve a link.
The post simply promoted a commercial product.
The "Report This Post" resource clearly calls that "Spam".

However, your response outlines a very reasonable set of guidelines for a somewhat murky area.
Not exactly "boiler-plate", but a good job in a tough area. I respect that.

Peace?
