Saw a video of a white antifa type goon directing several young black kids on bikes to ride ahead and scout the area for whatever, cops, stores to loot etc. Think it was in NY, not sure.

I also live in LV. The casinos will open on Thursday. Most, if not all, at least on the strip, have a security force to be reckoned with, and have been extensively trained to deal with these situations. Those fools will get mopped if they try to kick something off inside one of those casinos. Also, Nevada is a "stand your ground" and "castle doctrine" state.
I doubt that each casino's security team can individually contain hundreds of people storming the building. Assuming they all open on the Strip this Thursday, I expect a large Metro presence.

It was no accident that the crowds chose to congregate in proximity of major shopping malls, such as Fashion Show mall or the Miracle Mile shops. Metro wall of humans was prepared. It was no accident that Metro vigorously and successfully defended all entrances to the Fremont Street Experience.
El Cortez, not on that street, sustained extensive vandalism, including a broken glass door.

We love and appreciate Metro police.
Each of the big dogs on the strip (MGM, Wynn, etc) have a Special Operations team aside from the normal front line security you would see on the floor. Their SWAT or SEAL team (I had to throw that in there) if you will. I have no doubt they will be able to handle anything that comes their way.

And yes, much respect to our Metro officers! Just make sure when making that right turn on to Rainbow from Blue Diamond that you come to a complete stop first... ;)

Hahaha. And, do a full stop, please, on Southern Highlands Parkway at the golf club entrance. :D
Someone is always waiting right there.

Right now the casinos main objective above anything else seems to be to recover the profits lost from being closed 77 days. Visited M casino and Rampart and got bit hard. Quads were a rarity in both. No one was hardly hitting anything in either, and Rampart has a huge clientele of high rollers. For the first time ever I did not hear a $1200+ jackpot go off there. M has only the new IGT machines. No need to say anything more about those... I will probably wait several months to revisit any casino here in LV to play VP. I am in no hurry to lose any more money

We went to the M casino once and won't return for a while, for different reason. Despite published guidelines from the Nevada Gaming Commission on reopening casinos at this time, and despite the fact that popular Strip casinos are going above and beyond those guidelines, here is what we found at M:

(1) No one is taking guest temperatures as they enter the M. **Wynn and Cosmo have extensive protocol in place for taking every guest's temperature. So does downtown casinos.

(2) There are no masks available at the M entrance. We asked and were told to find a security guard, who had them behind his podium and he rummaged through the bags with his hands to give us them.
** Other casinos have boxes of masks, gloves, and hand wipes at their front entrance.

(3) Zero self-distancing enforced. M did not remove any machines off their floor during the hiatus. At one bank of machines, every single machine was turned on, not every other machine.

(4) M did not hire additional cleaning staff as promised, to sanitize. Looked like two crew members to clean the entire casino. Waited twenty minutes after pushing the "service" button until a cleaner could come and wipe down the machine from the previous guest, using the same cloth he used to wipe the tops of trash receptacles. No sanitizing spray used. ** Strip casinos vow to clean machines after a guest stands up. Can't do that at M with just 2 employees.

(5) Zero paper towels in any of the bathrooms . . . why are they removed? They are the automated dispensing towel machines, no touching needed. Zero napkins at the deli. Zero handwipes anywhere. There used to be handwipes in a container near the M entrance. Gone. **don't know if Strip casinos removed all paper towels, but they advertise hand wipes will be available throughout the floor.

(6) Dirty overloaded ashtrays and guests' abandoned coffee cups and drinks left all over machine tops.

(7) Majority of guests not wearing masks . . . perhaps because M hid them at the security podium?

My opinion: M didn't get the memo from NV gaming about sanitizing and cleaning. Safety protocols? Nope. More like, welcome back, we missed your money.

Wow! That is a far cry from what I posted about Mohegan Sun. Sounds to me like the strip casinos and Mohegan sun are taking things seriously as far as sanitizing goes. I haven’t been to Foxwods yet but I understand they are serious about it also. Has anyone considered reporting that casino? Or do you think it will fall on deaf ears Because the government wants the money?

Dang! what a shame, I just received the best offer by a large margin to the M. Was thinking about booking a plane ticket to take advantage this and several other nice offers in Sin City.

Thanks for the in person update! Hopefully they will get their act together soon.🙄

Based on what Sea Lion reported, as well as my perspective on safety protocols, I'd say: take advantage of the M offers, but come prepared. If it matters to you, then I recommend bringing your own masks, gloves, hand wipes, and a few paper napkins/towels in your pockets. At least, you have the option to sanitize machines yourself. We were totally caught off-guard.
I agree with Sea Lion: the M video poker was woeful on the day we went. Maybe, limit you play at M, and go for the other Vegas offers you received.

I would like to add about M is that Penn CEO sent out an email in April mentioning about reinstating offers as they were before they closed. My offer came but it was 1/4 of my March offer. I emailed back the VP/GM at M and all of the sudden they added $70 ($35 x 2) food comps, but did not budge on the free play. I inquired about this at the players club and was told that they system was still in the process of being updated (big line of bullsh*t). Okay, I get the hint... As Doug mentioned, no temp check at the entrance (from the top of the covered parking structure in the back), only remove mask for cameras to see you, and no one sanitizing machines. The feeling I also got is that they are in way too much of a hurry to recover what was lost during the shutdown. On a positive note, my wife and I have always liked the restaurants there with their buffet being one of the best in Vegas, however with the buffet closed, we ate at the Burgers & Brews and the food did not disappoint.

Family from out of state was in town so we broke the several month hiatus and went to Suncoast, then Orleans. Both places took your temp at the door. Suncoast only had one cashier. Jackpots were jumping at both casinos to my amazement! I even hit a royal at Suncoast on 9/6 DDB nickel ten play saving only 3 cards to the royal. Quads not so much though. Did better on quads at the "up to 99.8%" single play. Machines were not being sanitized after someone got up as it seemed both places were short on staff, but they did the best they could on a skeleton crew. Cocktail servers were in full force though. All of the machines were turned on in both places, just every other seat was removed. You can still play next to your spouse this way. Just be prepared to be asked by security if you are together. I would be wary of the table game areas though as they do get crowded. Also if you are a table player, be on the lookout for various casino tables doubling the minimum bet. All in all, broke dead even for about 10 hours of play between both places and that is between mine and my wife's play.

Thanks, for the last few years I've pretty much used the Boy Scout motto. Be Prepared! Its really helped with colds/flu and what not. About the only thing from your suggestions is wearing a mask, and have no problem wearing and bringing some.

I hope you and Sea Lion are not suggesting the pay tables have been reduced, and it was just bad variance for your return to casinos.
