I would like to add about M is that Penn CEO sent out an email in April mentioning about reinstating offers as they were before they closed. My offer came but it was 1/4 of my March offer. I emailed back the VP/GM at M and all of the sudden they added $70 ($35 x 2) food comps, but did not budge on the free play. I inquired about this at the players club and was told that they system was still in the process of being updated (big line of bullsh*t). Okay, I get the hint... As Doug mentioned, no temp check at the entrance (from the top of the covered parking structure in the back), only remove mask for cameras to see you, and no one sanitizing machines. The feeling I also got is that they are in way too much of a hurry to recover what was lost during the shutdown. On a positive note, my wife and I have always liked the restaurants there with their buffet being one of the best in Vegas, however with the buffet closed, we ate at the Burgers & Brews and the food did not disappoint.
I received the same email. And what is considered my home casino in the Penn National chain just sent my offers a few minutes ago. They are not open yet, but are expected to soon. My offers from them have been reduced to 1/5th of what my March offers were. Yet the M offer i mentioned earlier has been upped by about 8 times normal? I guess it just goes to show how each casino can be an independent child in the same chain.
I've never had a bad meal at any of the restaurants at the M. And in my opinion the buffet there is still one of the best Vegas. Hope it stays that way when they reopen.

Based on what Sea Lion reported, as well as my perspective on safety protocols, I'd say: take advantage of the M offers, but come prepared. If it matters to you, then I recommend bringing your own masks, gloves, hand wipes, and a few paper napkins/towels in your pockets. At least, you have the option to sanitize machines yourself. We were totally caught off-guard.
I agree with Sea Lion: the M video poker was woeful on the day we went. Maybe, limit you play at M, and go for the other Vegas offers you received.
Thanks, for the last few years I've pretty much used the Boy Scout motto. Be Prepared! Its really helped with colds/flu and what not. About the only thing from your suggestions is wearing a mask, and have no problem wearing and bringing some.

I hope you and Sea Lion are not suggesting the pay tables have been reduced, and it was just bad variance for your return to casinos.
I have not seen pay tables reduced on any of the games I have played anywhere yet. That was one of my concerns when the casinos opened back up. The other was the tinkering with main control servers that could influence the game which is also a huge no no for class 3 VP machines.

Interesting that both Indy70 and Sea Lion had reduced offers. We thought it was just us.
M is the only Penn property we visit. Same email about "don't worry, your March offers will be waiting for you when we reopen." Hahaha. Nope.
My free play was cut by 1/4, and my food offers went to ZERO. My spouse had the same food offer as before ($35 a week) but free play was cut to ZERO. Thanks M. I complained to my host, who suggested emailing M, which I haven't done. Virtually none of the hosts, including mine, have been called back.

In my opinion, M is cutting corners everywhere possible, and it's NOT a good look:
**The "lounge" for Owner's Club/Elite is closed, so no soda cans/bottled water. (food was pitiful, anyway).
** Removing all paper towels from every bathroom and no paper napkins or hand wipes at the deli must save them money, even if negligible. It's stupid.
** Minimal employees called back, a skeleton crew for sure. Two cleaning crew members for the entire casino floor is ridiculously impractical. So much for "caring" about the safety/health of guests.
**Hotel is supposedly only open on ONE floor out of 14. Awesome social distancing. Probably means only two housekeepers called back to work.
**Cutting offers to 1/4 or 1/5 of what they were in March . . . thinking no one notices?

Meanwhile, we had several food/free play offers to use today, both downtown and at the Cosmo. Interesting that temperature checks were done downtown casinos, just as I said. Cleaning crews were visible. Cosmo was surprisingly busy, but still looked cleaner than M, despite bigger crowd at Cosmo.

Conclusion: most casinos are taking NV Gaming commission safety protocols seriously.

It's too bad about the reduced offers from M. I am curious to see what offers I get from them and others once the offers start flowing again.

I'm not a marketing guy but logo'd Videopoker.com face masks might be a big hit.....

I myself would much rather have reduced offers than reduced paytables. Maybe because my offers have never been anything to write home about...but you can theoretically increase your offers but once paytables go down, they don't come back.

As far as casinos trying to get their losses back- well yeah I would expect that. I wouldn't be surprised if they are all losing money at the reduced capacities. It's hard to root for the house, but remember without the house there are no games.

I predict out of state gamblers especially Californians, will see much more generous offers than they had in March. M pretends to like locals, but they LOVE Californians, and they need to entice out of state tourists to come back. (that means folks from states with Penn properties, such as Illinois).

It's no secret that Derek Stevens bought 1000+ one way flights to Vegas in hopes of those people booking into the D or Golden Gate. (you didn't need to stay at his properties). Vegas needs tourists to come back.

My offers DOUBLED from what they were in March at two "touristy" casinos here. They need to stay afloat till you all return. M doesn't seem to care.

The thing that I have a hard time grasping about Penn National is that even though I am geographically 45 minutes away from two of their Illinois properties, Hollywood Lawrenceburg, IN (5 hours away), is considered by them to be my "home" casino. I also get contacted every once in a while by some executive host at M too.

I am waiting a while before I head back to Las Vegas.

There's a reason for that. My host at M tells me that his job is to "telemarket" all day long. He is seldom on the casino floor, instead holed away in their "bunker" dialing out or emailing other Penn customers.
That's what executive hosts do. Their "casino hosts" are on the floor or working the "lounge" desk.
It didn't used to be that way, back when the Marnell family owned M. I used to have an old school host, when M first opened. He schmoozed on the floor all day. Penn is all about numbers, not relationships.

Wait and see your M offers . . . I think I'm right. You should see some awesome enticements to get you back here.

Hi Ted,
If you wish to change your home casino in the My Choice system it can be done. I too had a home casino that was not even close to my location or the amount of coin in, at my regular casino. This is what i found out last year when i wanted to change my home casino.
All most always your home casino is dictated by where you signed up for a players card first. YMMV! It looks like you may have gotten a players card 1st at Hollywood Lawrenceburg, or possibly Argosy. Hell with all the consolidation and switching of players clubs it might have been Belterra.

Anyway if you wish to change, go to a trusted host at the casino you want as your home. It helps to have personal data that shows how many trips per year your coin in and any other spend there. If your a regular, a host should want you or if you have one at least get credit for your play. Be warned this can take a long time. In my case it took over 7 months. However it can be beneficial, depending on your play and some other factors.
Good luck!
