I agree with this if you're familiar with the chart and can successfully identify the options (such as a suited 78T is a 3-card straight flush with one inside (gap) and no higher cards --- or SF3 -1 in Dancer/Daily notation.

But it takes quite a bit of practice and knowledge to be able to do this. If you're a newbie to a particular game, a written strategy chart could easily be useless to you. Over time, however, especially if you practice with a computer that corrects your mistakes, you'll figure out the notation and the strategy card and the card is considerably easier to use than inputting all five cards.

Not to mention that a strategy card does not require Internet access.

When I first started out, I didn't even know how to identify hands lol. I grew up playing slots and stuff. When I realized how much money VP returned after all the casinos started getting greedy tightening up the slots to unplayable levels, I was determined to learn, and I did.

In your smart phone, you can just pull up the wizard of odds hand analyzer in your phone's hand analyzer, and you can go through your data or most casinos have wifi nowadays. I'm not in Nevada so I was never aware of the fact that it's technically "illegal."

So then it's legal to bring a piece of paper with the hands in order, because it is not a "computerized, electronic, electrical or mechanical device," ?

I have bobs cards but find myself impatient trying to use them , just my personality and I'm playing for fun. . I practice on the trainer to play correctly. Interesting topic for sure.

Interesting topic and discussion. In my dozen plus years of playing, I've never had a casino representative question my occasional use of a software program to check the correct play. Of course they may have never seen me although I've never consciously hidden it. It often sits beside me on the slant top with the app open for use if I'm not familiar with the game. If I'm playing a new game or a game I haven't played in a long time I will often use the app on my phone to check the best play. If it becomes an issue, I'd certainly put it away.

Funny, how this reminded me of the old days, when I would get hassled about taking hand pay photos but that quickly went by the way as iPhones became so prevalent. At one favorite casino, when told I couldn't take a photo I asked to see the slot supervisor. I showed him photos of hand pays at his sister casino taken by a slot attendant for me with my hand pay. Then I showed him my big hit photos on video poker.com that I had posted. The next trip over he saw me and told me he'd like for me to post the photos of my hits at his casino. Told him I would and never was questioned again by security or casino staff. I think he realized it was impossible to stop everyone with an iPhone and two it was a great way to get free publicity for his casino.

Had similar stories with Mohegan Sun. I told them that OK, guess I will just have to keep and blow up the Foxwoods photos and post them not only on vp.com, but send to my friends and relatives. The suit said……well OK for this time, but thats all. After that, I was never bothered again. Of course I had showed him my post where Foxwoods was prominently mentioned with the photo in the thread. Funny, that’s back when I had my flip phone before my sister gave me her cast off SE which I love cause it slips into my shirt pocket. Both her and my brother are having all kinds of issues with their 13s. Knock on wood, my SE keeps plugging along.

I am really cleaning up my play with practice sessions. It's amazing how much EV I was giving up, even though the errors were small. They add up after a two hour casino session. I'd rather just take my medicine at home.

Sweet C practices almost every night. However, there are a couple of hands I still can't her to play despite the EV.
