I AM NEW AT PLAYING VIDEO POKER. I LIKE THE GAME VERY MUCH BUT, HOW DO I GET BETTER AT IT. AY SUGGESTIONS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

There's several approaches depending on your preferences. There are many good books that can help you get started. "The Video Poker Edge" by Linda Boyd and the "Frugal Gambler" series by Jean Scott are two excellent books. If you prefer the internet you could browse over several threads right here on VP.com and learn quite a bit. I would concentrate on the strategy section first. Finally, most proficient VP players have invested in one of the half dozen or so VP tutors. They are well worth the investment.
 
Also, ask as many questions as you like. The folks here will try to help as much as possible.

The variety of games is really cool! wizardofodds.com (it's a free site) for tutorial lets you know what you SHOULD HAVE played if not perfect. It repeats similar hands to help slow learners to catch on...enough said! The "Bob Dancer Presents WinPoker" program snags my attention as my computer warms up. Right holds appear after I held my best bets...usually we agree...These have all helped me immeasurably. Trying to learn several VP games at once is not a good thing. Learn to play two or three VP games "perfectly" before adding more to your favorites. If one pay scale is not good, switch to another game. However, switching games often can lead to costly errors - forgetting which game you are playing and wasting bets. BEWARE: video poker is really ADDICTING! However, I think my warning is already too late for most of us reading this!

Way too late and I have dicussions with my FRIEND about that. I recommend VPW or VPFW. Have spent countless hours on them. They , with the warnings, instill the proper holds for each hand. Playing blindly can be very expensive unless one is extermely lucky. Good Luck to you.

To the original poster:  You can find plenty of good information here from members.  Buying a good book or two, plus investing in tutoring software will really help you out in your play.
