Nice! Four out of 27 is a pretty good catch, considering we mortals often go more than 100 times without even one.

I had a friend in Henderson who thought he had found a 10-7 JOB machine. He sent me some screenshots of Full Houses and asked me if the information was worth $1,000. It wasn't to me but I thought it might be to some friends so I asked them. It turned out the game was well known and two pair only paid even money, not 2-1.
More often than not in cases like this, the mistake isn't with the casino but with the person who sees only what he is looking for.
Mistakes do happen, but I think you are better off pounding away on a good promotion than endlessly searching for a casino mistake. Others' milage may vary.

The effectiveness of scouting depends on your skill level. Most of the regulars here would recognize 10/7 Jacks as a favorable anomaly, but what if you saw 9/6 Super Double Double Bonus -- would you have any idea the EV is almost 102%? Can you recognize when a progressive is far above its plausible range?

Bob has interviewed APs who travel specifically for scouting, but they're typically proficient at all the major game categories: vp, slots and tables. For a more ordinary player with an AP mindset, I think it's useful to roughly memorize the layout of your regular casinos, with the intention of scouting if you notice anything new or different.

The same thing happened to me. In 2018 I found a single machine (one of two)100 play machines that mistakenly had 99% return for DW and Bonus as compared to the general 97% return on all other games throughout the casino.
Interesting story, although you would need big slot club benefits to comfortably exceed 100% overall. Many of the Gulf Coast casinos offered 99.5%+ multi-line in the past, but card value was usually not much afaik. Harrah's for example had good games throughout the USA. Eventually they downgraded everything, but the slot club is probably somewhat better now.

As of 12/15/20 at least one still has 99% multi-hand machines.

Mistakes happen. When you find one, exploit it . I recently wrote about a deuces wild progressive at the .25 level at Borgata that didn't reset at $ 250 when the deuces hit. Kept going up. I hit it three times for approx 575, 800 and 1150. I knew when it got to 1,200 and someone got a W2G, the game was done. That's what happened. I'm sorry now that I didn't play it more . It lasted for a while.

. . .
I intentionally noted in my original post that I NEVER drive aimlessly around Vegas looking for plays. So, I'm definitely not interested in "scouting" as some players might do.
So, when an anomaly occurs on a specific game at a place I might visit sometimes, I played and played.

Same goes for recognizing the edge on a high progressive. Last year, my daughter won about $17,000 on a three line 25 cent progressive. That was nice.

+1

This play lasted 16 days. It was good enough for me, up a few thousand dollars for minimal effort.

:)

It's definitely possible since 10/6 and 9/7 JoB existed in the past, but I would think that IGT would have got rid of a 10/7 Jacks and 10/6 Bonus paytable out of their machines by now, but maybe not.

I'm sure you didn't think about it at the time, but I really wish you did take a picture of the machine at some point because the fact the paytable was even available is hard to believe for me. I would have and then showed it after the "play" was over. 16 days isn't a bad run for a gaffe like this. And congrats on winning during it. Did you get a royal?

I've seen 10/7 Jacks before in Tunica. But two pair was only 1 for 1, it's the worst VP game I've ever seen in a casino.

91.0951%. Here's the pay back and optimal strategy. Note the lowest play except a complete redraw is to hold 9/10 suited.

Motorcity here has a similar one on their penny 100 play machine. It's listed at JoB but is really BP Deluxe.
