This is very good news because even at my current play level, come April first, I would have droped back. I believe this was just announced today, so whoever plays at Mohegan Sun will be glad to hear this. For me to earn the other 2,000 points I would have needed to maintain Soar status, I would have had to run another 1,000,000 bucks through the machines between now and March 31. No way would I have done this.

Let’s hope that red carpet is sewn with gold thread. They can keep their little treats. Just give me the gold!

On my CET main screen, the Messages button blinks like crazy. When I clicked, it just said, “Thank you for your loyalty.” What blowhards.

Can’t say as I disagree I wish I could somehow patch in an old symbol that goes back to the 1800s a naked guy standing inside a wooden barrel right next to the word loyalty

olds, will you start getting comped trips out to Vegas now that Mohegan runs the new Virgin Hotel here?

Side note: when a new casino opens here, all GM's from the other Vegas properties are invited to the grand opening. Rumor is that Mohegan didn't invite them . . .

Nice welcome, though, from Revel (on the Strip, not yet open) and Circa, who both utilized their huge marquees to welcome the new casino to Vegas. :)

Good for you OLDS everyone needs a helping hand when it comes to gambling.

Our casino gave in to heavy presser from there VP/KENO players over the points change from $1 to get a point to $10 to get a point. It was a bad move and the uproar/boycott won out. Coming this Friday after one month into the change they are rolling things back. We will be able to download free play in the game kings once again and they are rolling the points back to a much better $2 in to get one point. Not as good as 1 for 1 but much better then 10 to 1.

Great. The only thing casinos usually respond to is fear that you will take your business elsewhere or just stop playing. They always seem to see what they can get away with at our expense until the troops rally. When they join forces and all get on the same page is when we really get screwed. Constant tug of war.

Heavy pressure? Blistering email, maybe? Dressing down a host? I can’t imagine any consequential pressure whatsoever.

Here's some BAD NEWS from Mohegan Sun:

Their new casino takeover in Vegas is a huge failure. Mohegan operates the former Hard Rock casino, though the hotel is owned by Virgin.

Mohegan has managed to highlight every single thing you can do wrong when opening a casino here.
Don't invite all the other casino GM's to your grand opening, shun the Locals market, have lackluster service, no promos, and lousy paytables.
Last weekend, Vegas was packed, and yet there are photos of Mohegan on that Friday night : empty.

Meanwhile, we got an invite to Resorts World Grand Opening weekend, thanks to one of my hosts relocating to Resorts. We fully expect lousy paytables. . . it IS the Strip, after all. But, their boxed invited was mighty impressive.
