Article on impact of RF progressive on 9/6 JOB EV

Post by OTABILL »

A short article on EV impact of RF progressive using 9/6 JOB as example. Found on page 14 of this month's Arizona Gaming Guide. As an aside, interesting commentary on page 6 on how automation is affecting casinos. https://issuu.com/arizonagamingguide/do ... MzE1NzMxOQ

Cool magazine. I play them a lot at Caesars. From what I understand, very rare outside of LV. Yesterday, it was a whopping $1,014. They approach $1,200 about three times a year.

Vegas dried up some time ago. The only remainders are at Henderson slot parlors Skyline and Emerald Island.

Within Nevada, Reno is far superior to Vegas.

That’s what I thought. I had read of their hen’s teeth rarity. Caesars must really like the heavy business their six have been doing for however long they have been installed.

I think it's good marketing. The escalating jackpot creates excitement, but it doesn't cost them much because the meter advances slowly.

Have you looked around at the slots? Progressives are very common, I might even say ubiquitous but I would have to check the dictionary to be sure I'm using it correctly. Some machines have as many as 5 or 6 progressives.

Slot players have all the fun.

I have not assessed their ubiquity. But yes, the slot zombies love their thrills.

My late wife and I almost always played DDB machines with multiple progressives. Since, I haven't been to our usual haunts recently, I am not sure they are still around. Here in AZ, Casino Arizona had several banks of them. Found in Vegas and Laughlin as well. Very hard to determine EV with multiple progressives.

DDB is probably still the most popular game for vp progressives. Per vpfree2, the only 10/6 DDB progressive is the $1 bank at Aquarius Laughlin. I believe it's progressive on the top 2 payoffs only, and the meters are on the slow side, and points are reduced.

If I could choose, I would always prefer to play a multiple progressive rather than having all the progressive money go into the royal flush basket. When chasing a big royal, optimal strategy can get really weird.

Right, the JOB pros are really scarce. That damn meter is as slow as molasses. I'm usually there among the smokers and button slammers doing their thing. It gets old fast. The worst atmosphere in the whole damn casino, now that I think of it. I'm only there weekends, so that's the stew. Like it or lump it.

I am pleased to report that I recently leveraged that progressive for an extra $36.
