Just because you have to put the work into this, doesn't mean it can't be "fun" as well.

If squandering a 500 unit win is deeply upsetting, triggering, etc, it is definitely salutary for one's mental health to cease and desist the operation for the day. Of course, you will return some other day. And the war will rage on and on. I prefer less stress, more happiness. My casino city offers so much to do beyond gambling that I don't regret pulling the plug. Everyone's situation is different.

IMO, Martingale Clone is not a scheme. It is just another way of managing one’s money. If you cut your losses using it instead of chasing beyond bankroll limits, the end results over millions of hands will probably match flat betting. Finding an advantage over the casino is a huge help in the long run. Short term anything can happen in either direction. I may have a different version of discipline, but it still comes down to playing with your head not over it.

Follow the practice that has proven to be profitable for you LONG RUN. But don't delude yourself..... have an exact (honest) accounting of whether or not that practice is really making money for you --- or do you you "believe" it is making money for you? (Big difference) If you are at the casino for fun, not profit...well, that's an expensive and depressing hobby.

Unless you can find a casino with good paytables and unless you can discipline yourself to "play the right games the right way", then may I respectfully suggest that you consider knitting as a neat, low-risk hobby?

Luckily, my casino still has both good pay tables and on certain days a player advantage depending on promotions. Discipline is always still a work in progress. I think for most of us it is.

LOL. And most of the time if I get upset with my “ hobby “ it is at myself regarding Discipline!! Once in awhile, if there has been a long cold stretch and I hit something good, I will mutter under my breath a few choice four letter words in the way of stress relief. LOL. I think overall we are pretty to have such a nice facility with amenities to spend our “free time “ in. Free in one sense anyway ! LOL again.

Not that simple, work required !!
Your comment followed, " Long run is all one big game...gotta play perfectly, take advantage of promos, and know the edge. Simple!

In my opinion, you're both right!

The process is fairly simple. There's a fairly clear path towards success.

It's not so easy, though, to stay on the path. The biggest pitfall not listed in the brief summary above is discipline. Once you know where the path is, you have to avoid straying from that path --- assuming your goal is making money.

1. Don't go chasing your losses using some Martingale (modified or not) scheme. The math on that is really clear.

2. If the game you find does not meet the criteria of being more than 100%, everything included, don't play! (This one seems to be the hardest for many people. They think that since they're already there, they HAVE to play.)

3. Don't play hunches. Correct decisions are made by math, not by feelings!

Of course, if your goal is to "have fun," which is a perfectly valid goal --- it's just not mine, you can disregard my advice. Just realize that having fun can be very expensive. If you can afford it, you're entitled to make whatever choices you like.
Big Fan Bob first off let me say that, have you read a book by Philip Koetsch? conquer the casinos, the author ran simulations per 100-chip roll and on average ended a net loser -6ish. you may say well thats good but thats gotta do with video poker? my reply to that is i played 8400ish hands and up 2300ish dollars doubling up 4times in a row with a 100-unit bank aka 500 credit and following his structure.
no way would i be able to win that much kicking off with a meager roll of 125$ and up as i go.
keep in mind the programmer claims he shuffles the single deck 7x over before the deal button is hit.

i tried this online casino sites and not much success, maybe the 7x shuffle is too perfectly randomized or maybe i was just lucky/unlucky online play 4 free, i ran sims of my own on masque video poker double up 2, 3 and 4 with a 500 credit roll and doubling 4 was the sweet spot and lost the least of the 25 trials the 2 double up lost btw 7-10k and 4 double up lost 5k. each trial of the 25 consist of either a double 500 or b lose all. the double up x2 saw additional royal however using a betting method winning 4 in a row of 500 denom up as you go showed positive results oppose to just flat betting.
as the author said in the 100 turns you will come across a win streak but you'd be just winning your money back oppose to using a method that capitalize on your wins.
