Does any variation have an advantage over others?

Are the overall long-term odds of getting a RF or four Aces w/kicker (or another high payout hand) different among the variations offered in the contests?

Yes, because in some games, you go for the royal more often.

Your odds of getting 4 aces with a kicker to pay out go down significantly when playing Deuces Wild since there is no payout for it. Some would say you actually hit it more often though, to spite you.

Like onemoretry said, natural royals do vary because your strategy varies (or should vary). But that does assume you are changing your strategy.

In other words, if you held the cards exactly the same no matter what you were playing, you would probably have the same number of royals in any game (we'll ignore joker). How much that would cost you on all the non-royal hands would vary tremendously.

If your goal is to simply get more royals, then you could adjust your strategy in any game to do so.
