What's your style?

We all suffer losses playing VP, but do you try for bail outs or pot shots to get back some losses?

Today was a 3 bail out day. When I play single line JOB and NSUD and start to get in a hole, I tend to head to games that I only play short term like muti-hand and BDLX since the pay table is not to my liking playing them games many hours at a time. Was down near 1k on NSUD so headed to dream card. Looking for some dream card help like 4 to the royal or 4 deuces. Bail out #1

After bail out one got me back to only down 300 back to single line only to drop over the next few hours to down 900. bail out 2, $1 deuces. gets me back to even on the day.

Back to single line dropping to .50 NSUD and no go down 600. Head for BPDLX drop in 100 first hand 4 Queens! Up 200 for the day, ran for the door on 44k coin in day.

I only use a few hundred for the pot shots, don't like digging a deeper hole and there are times they don't work. But when they do it's a great day!

Great job Wildman. I tend to increase denomination on a different machine and or game. Doesn’t always work, but have had a few windfalls.

You've given me an idea for marketing my betting system. Don't over promise. I'll stand apart from the usual hyperbole, and my dissatisfied customers will be less likely to demand refunds.

"Here's what people are saying about Dinero de Dinghy™:"

Jim from Kansas City MO: "It doesn't always work."

Chuck from Parsippany NJ: "Doesn't make sense."

Stan from Bakersfield CA: "It worked once, and I still tell that story at least twice a day."

Holy crap. If I somehow ran up $44,000 coin in, I’d lose $2,000 and have Suicide Hotline on speed dial. Bob Danceresque rolling. Whistling past the graveyard.
FAA from AC: “I busted again. Caesars is backstabbing city.”

My "style", and I dislike the word in this context, is to almost never alter my bet when losing. More like Steady Eddie. There's no style in going on tilt and betting haphazardly and not knowing where my money went. I don't start playing scared and betting less and I don't chase losses by increasing wagers or moving to multi-hand or some different game. I will play slower 400-500 HPH (sometimes even 300 or less) instead of 750, or just quit for a few hours. Worst case scenario, I take a beating to my loss limit.

Much different story when I'm winning.

Losing discombobulates me. My bets are even more helter-skelter. I get panicked, stressed and supremely desperate. I go full tilt and max bet until the bitter end bust or min/max in an attempt to save. Those sessions where you feel like you’re playing slots are unbearable.

That is certainly my style, with the addition of the phrase "when winning", as well. I do not attempt to recover losses by increasing my denomination, nor do I change denomination because I'm having a good day.

A YouTube guy has a “multiple bankrolls” strategy. That’s just chasing your losses after a brutal beat down. I’d call it multiple masochism. He lost $2,500. But fear not. At night he hits Caesars Palace like an emperor. $10,000 jackpot!
