Progressives Jackpots Rate of increase?

I like to play DDB with a progressive jackpot.
I've noticed some progressive jackpots increase at a much faster rate then
others?
For instance, at Harrahs in Maricopa they have a bank of 10 (or 12, forget now) DDB Progressive. The jackpot increases at a very slow rate, by the penny. And Desert Diamond in Tucson has a bank of 10 and pretty much the same.
However, Wild Horse Pass in Chandler Az has a bank of 12 were the jackpot
increases by sometimes a dollar!
I know it depends on number of players and their speed of play but this
disparity seems rediculous....
Any other reason for this?

ray,
I'm pretty certain that it increases proportionately to the coin-in at the bank the progressive is linked to. I'm not quite sure what the rate is though, maybe 1 cent per $10 through, maybe it varies. I'm curious where this DDB progressive bank is at Ak-chin. I was there today, as a matter of fact, and have never noticed it. Is it an 8/5 pay table like most of the DDB there?

Progressives rates are set up by the casino. They can vary quite a bit. I've heard folks say they've seen rates as high as 1-2% while I know of one that is only .05%.

Really?
To the right of the front door is a bank of 10-12 supertimes pay games and to the left is a bank of 10-12 3/5-play machines. I've never noted them to be progressive or the words "goldrush". Is this where you mean? I'll be there again next saturday and I'll look.

It's call "Copper Canyon". 8/5 DDB $.25 From what I've seen is that it hits from $1100-$1300. Just to the west of the blackjack tables and the main entrance.CK

I know the progressive I play most goes up .01 on the first $5 in and .02 on the next $5. I call it a 1-2 machine.
The other casino I play has a much slower rate its 1-1.
This helps me cycle through the hands so I know when the JP is at $5,300 it has gone through 40K+ hand without hitting a royal. The other one I look for around $4800.
Problem is not everyone plays full credits so it not uncommon for them to travel beyond those amounts.
