Royal Frequency?

I know that a JB Royal is supposed to come around about every 45,000 hands. I image that pros play at least 5 days a week at about 5,000 hands a day. I can't imagine playing that much, but do you guys average a Royal about every two weeks? Just interested...

Phil, I've drawn 3 royals in less than 2 hours playing 10-play and I've gone dozens of hours without pulling one. It's a random event, you cannot put an exact timeline as to when they'll occur. You may get 3-4 royals within a couple thousand hands and may not see another one for 300,000 hands.

Most pros play quite a bit more than 5,000 hands a day. If given a chance they can play 2 machines at over 1600 hands/hour and put in 6-8 hours (or more) in a day. Of course, that is when they have a good play. If they can't find one on a particular day then they wouldn't play at all. BTW, the average number of hands for a RF on 9/6 JB is 40,390 hands, but, as mule pointed out, it can vary greatly around that mean.

5000 is about 4-5 hours of play for me.

The, ahem, Senior members of this site have heard me tell this before but as they remember I hit 3 royals on the same 3/5 machine in one night. I also hit one on the machine right next to it the same night as well so even though a royal should hit roughly every 40,390 hands this doesn't mean they will be that far apart when they hit. Gotta get my shovel oiled up now...
