Jacks or Better

If you are dealt a small pair along with a J or K or Q or A, do you keep the pair, or the J/Q/K/A? I keep the small pair, but am not sure if that is the right thing to do.
Hey tt, I think your instincts are correct. I can't think of an example (except the first line or two of Multistrike) when you should keep one high card rather than a small pair.
