There are many bars that offer tabbletop v.p. in the Las Vegas area. When I lived in Illinois they had them on the riverboats too. Does anyone do well in these venues, or does it really matter. There are many distractions such as: sticky hold buttons, smokers and irritating bartenders to deal with here. I've never seen a royal in this environment, but let me know what you think.-----CWA-----

FWIW: I play more often at bars than anywhere else. The best bar for playing, in my opinion, is the upstairs sports bar at Monte Lago. Machines are well-spaced, they serve premium pours with play, and the multiple flat screen TV's are lowered to eye-level. Critics are quick to decry bartops because they typically have lower pay tables than on the floor, but learning to enjoy the vp experience often leads to less errors and better results, which almost always overcomes 5 less credits for a FH.

One of the best bars to play is Tenaya Creek in North Vegas, they have no smoking, a nice bar, and have 9-6 ddb with a progressive for quarters.  It is worth a shot.

I play bar tops and have hit 2 RFs in the past 2 months for over $2k each (quarter DDB progressive) I know this is a VP forum, but not long ago the guy next to me was playing some keno game and hit $3300, then $6600 then $3300 again with the same numbers on a 25 cent bar top in less than 2 hours!

I was watching the machine techs installing several VP machines into a bar top and casually asked what the plastic tray surrounding the CRT face was for. I was told, it was to catch the liquid drinks that were dumped on the machine by patrons while playing. This tray lead to a catch bottle connected by a rubber hose! Keeps the electronics dry and safe.

Bar tops are great places to play not to mention quick access to the bartender.  Tip well and your drink will never run dry, heck I have had bartenders toss a beer 1/3 full and give me a fresh one without having to ask.  Machines play as well as any others based on payback.

Love the bartops at Main Street Station - 9/6 JOB, great bartenders, comped microwbrews, and scratch cards for 4OAK or better. Had two royals on them in 2006!

Actually I've always done better at bar VP than elsewhere.
The payoff is usually less, but I hit RF more often and quads too!
Its true you sometimes have to move because of noisy drunks.
