Does anyone know if the same hand is dealt regardless of the number of coins bet? I’m sure the machine could be programmed to use a different random number generator for each level of play (i.e., 1 coin, 2 coins, etc.), but I’m just wondering if they are programmed that way. The reason I ask is because it seems to me that you rarely step into a hot zone with the first dozen or so hands played. It would seem like a good idea to play the first hands with one coin to get a feel for how the machine is running.

Number of coins bet doesn't affect the RNG, and you won't know if the next hand is hot until after you play it.

i have hit 4 aces on first hand and a royal on a second hand so i always play max!

Jim, welcome to forum. VP is one of the few random games you can play where you have some control of the outcome. the RNG doesn't discriminate and each sequence is truly random, regardless of coins played. "hot" and "cold" refer to your personal streaks, not the individual machine. Most everyone thinks that. I did too.

Even if the number of coins did change the random number generator to a "different random number generator", it would make no difference.Random means having no discernible pattern or order. For all intents and purposes all the RNG's used in gaming are equally random since there are no levels of randomness. Something is either random or it is not. Random doesn't come in flavors.It's like the concept of infinity.~FK

I also think the hands are completely random.  I had the same experience as Doris13 did.  Went to new community casino in Ocean City Maryland and sat down and my first hand of TDB quarters was 4 aces with kicker.  Very next hand was a Royal.  Wow.  Sometimes though when playing and I have one credit left, it does seem to hit several times as I play that last coin as opposed to what the machine was paying while playing max. Just seems that way.

I believe what has been said is true about the RNG in VP machines, but not so in a slot machine. A higher denomination slot machine will typically have more 'winning combinations' built into the program than a lower denomination slot of the same type.




Likely true, but, nevertheless, the result of any particular play will still be determined randomly.
