Tonight we’ll be talking to Anne Fried-Lefton, a tax accountant
who has made herself knowledgeable about gambling. We have had dozens of
questions sent in for Annie and we’ll be asking the ones of most general
interest.
We’ve had a lot of questions about game shows and the Massachusetts
Winfall lottery and will be talking about those.
As the last paragraph of this note says, usually shows are
archived the next day on bobdancer.com. This week my computer person is out of
town and they won’t be posted on my site until next Tuesday. The show will be
posted on
www.wizardofodds.com and
www.richardmunchkin.com early Friday.
GWAE may be heard live Thursday evenings from 7-8 in Las Vegas on
1230 AM or from
www.klav1230am.comfrom
anywhere. The shows are archived the next day on bobdancer.com. You may
subscribe for free from iTunes to get the podcasts delivered automatically to
your device.

Mr. Dancer, the QQ Trainer here, and your download have differing views as to how to play some of the hands. In your view, is yours simply more specific? Pinoyaces

Do you have examples of specific hands that appear to be different?

Log the machine number? That's insane. Has anyone heard of anyone whose logs were refused simply because they didn't record the machine numbers they played? Bob mentioned in the show that he hadn't heard of anyone. It sort of bothers me when tax people recommend you do MORE than is necessary - especially when the advice is to do something that simply doesn't matter yet greatly complicates record keeping. This tax stuff is hard enough as it is without doing EXTRA work for the man.

My last tax audit for tax year 2009, the IRS accepted the Win/Loss Statements from the casinos as supporting evidence for gambling loss deductions on my tax return. Case closed.

I noticed on my W2-G that the machine # was listed in box 5 Transaction.

I just question that the IRS will ever need to know what machine one played. That's kind of like asking you to record the route number you were on at the time for every mile deducted.
