Do Pros Ever Change Denomination While Playing?

I've always wondered if professional video poker players ever move up or down in denomination during the same session. Let's say you are having an unbelievable morning with 4-of-kinds and straight flushes popping up all over the place. Would you increase your bet? Is there ever a time when changing denominations is advisable?

I'm no pro but I've sure changed denominations if I was winning...Lets say you are playing quarters. When you switch to $.50 see if the hand is the same. If you hit KKKK2 on quarters, Switch to 50c and see if it is still has the same KKKK2 on the screen. If so it's the same game and the denomination change doesn't matter. I've found that sometimes it I switch to $1 the game changes. If that is the case I don't change. I do this often, especially when playing full pay machines. It's fun and I've had some good luck...Sometimes I'll just switch for a few hands or a certain amount of money. If my winnings start going down I switch back to the lower denomination.

kjohn,
A veteran slot director at Isle Biloxi explained and showed me If the hands are the same on different denominations you are playing on an older chip.

Not a pro, but I have. I usually regret it and kick myself for playing outside my bankroll.Opportunities are usually pretty slim for this because I'm usually playing the better paytables at the max available. I certainly won't compromise pay schedule to go up in denomination on a whim.

Pros are usually playing at the highest denomination that their bankroll permits. Therefore, I doubt it occurs very often. Of course, we know there are exceptions which was the topic of Dancer's book about winning a million.

I've been doing this for years and it usually costs me. Like most of us, I only have negative expectation games available to me. I realize pros would never play these games, but I am still curious. Wonder if Dancer has ever been tempted to switch to a $100 machine on a really good day? I think he would say that luck has nothing to do with it and if the numbers were right, he would play the $100 machine from the start. I just wonder if these guys are affected by human emotions and if they ever act on hunches? Machines never change strategies, they just run their programs. Humans are different (most anyway)...

I've acted on hunches before. If I feel like a machine is "due" then my action is to go lie down until the feeling goes away. Bob

That sounds like a 'Loss Stop' Money Management System to me, Bob...
