Can anyone tell me how they determine win/loss statements at the end of the year for vp play? Is it based on actual win/loss numbers or the theoretical win/loss playing those games?

Every casino has their own system. However, I believe it is always actual results.

Most casinos have a Players Card. The casino tracks your play on machines and table games when your card is in use.

The yearly P&L casino statement just shows a total for the year by property. It does not give you any info on specific machines or games.

I have learned to fill out requests for win/loss statements at player's clubs before leaving several of Michigan's Native American casinos. Otherwise, they require having a notary sign a mailed request. (FYI: Our local bank will provide a notary without charge and I have also used one in a local real estate office.) Little River Casino at Manistee does not get involved with state taxes so I printed the federal W2G issued from them and computed and put in the amount of state taxes due. In MI, if a W2G federal form is issued, a state accounting is also due! MI state W2G gambling taxes must be paid and cannot be written off by losses. Some of this may apply to your state. Some non Native American casinos will allow me to print my win/loss statement from them on line. For MGM, for example, I merely requested they send a win loss statement every year. It would be too easy if all casinos had some conformity with win/loss statements, preferably easily accessed on line!
