VP.com vs Casinos

Does anyone have an opinion on how the games we play on Video Poker.com compare to the same games we play at Las Vegas or other casinos? I play "regular" strategies on JOB, DDB, BP and DW when I practice on this web site and the same when I play in a casino. I'm interested if there is a comparison, looser/tighter, between practicing here and the real thing. Are they similar?

They are programmed to be as close to the casino experience as possible. Pay tables may vary based on which casino you play at, of course.

Generally the games are "looser" on the vp.com site than the average casino VP machine. If you look hard enough, you usually find games with the same payback in the casino for single line game kings, but finding "gimmick" games like Super Times Pay or Ultimate X with the same payback is much more difficult.

You should change your strategy a little bit based upon the paytable, but playing basic strategy for a "full pay" game on a "short pay" game won't effect you too much. One of the examples I can think of off the top of my head...

In 8/5 or 7/5 Bonus Poker with Aces full, you should everything for a guaranteed full house.

In 6/5 Bonus Poker with Aces full, you should hold AAA and hope for quads.

Actually, if WebMan likes you, you will win more on this site (per EDog).

I think vp.com games are rigged. Case in point. Today is the day they charge my credit card for gold membership renewal. Earlier today, I decided to play 5 games in the monthly contest and finished with a score of about 5,900. Finished just outside the top 10. Webman wanted to make sure I had a good day and did not have second thoughts about cancelling my gold membership.

All kidding aside I cannot tell any difference between playing vp.com versus at the casino. For less than $100 a year, where else can you get this much bang for your buck.

There has been no statement on this forum more true than that BJ.

On this site the cards come up more random then my home casino. I play 40,000 hands a month at the casino and 3 times that many on this site a month. Sunday I had 4 to the royal 5 times off the deal. I might see that hand 5 times in a months play on this site at 3 times the hands.

Hey Webman,
I thought we had a deal. How did EDOG get the 3rd highest score this morning for a single session?
You know that keeps him in the running on the monthly contest.

He does that almost every month just give me a false sense of hope. Later in the month he pulls the rug out from under me.
